Ibara Black Label or Muchi Muchi Pork
I'm at a crossroads on making a purchase...which would be the more wise decision.

i picked up black label a little while ago and i love it, it's not like ibara and it's not like ibara arrange, it's completely different game (with the old ibara graphics). black label supposedly exists in only limited numbers (200 or less). most of these are making their way to cave fans who might not offer it up for trade/sale any time soon again. in other words: black label is getting increasingly rare (and i suppose that will at least hold it's value, if not increase in value).
muchi muchi pork on the other hand is a brand new game that, if previous cave titles are anything to go by, will drop in price quite rapidly over the coming weeks and months. it's also likely that you'll be able to pick that one up new for quite a long time still.
but in the end you should not choose the game on it's expected rarity but rather on which one you expect to enjoy more!

Yeah, I read your thread about Black Label Ibara or Pink Sweets and I definitely agree, I'm going for the game I would enjoy more. I'm leaning more towards Ibara though, as MMP just came out, and who knows if there will be a 1.5 or anything like that down the road. The price isnt appealing for either one, but there is an opportunity for Ibara being cheaper. Thank you for the info as well!eretsua wrote:i picked up black label a little while ago and i love it, it's not like ibara and it's not like ibara arrange, it's completely different game (with the old ibara graphics). black label supposedly exists in only limited numbers (200 or less). most of these are making their way to cave fans who might not offer it up for trade/sale any time soon again. in other words: black label is getting increasingly rare (and i suppose that will at least hold it's value, if not increase in value).

i think that going for IBL is a good choice. it's fun game to play with some significant improvements over regular ibara and arrange. it should also not be to difficult to sell later on in case you'll get done with it / need funds for a new game. so it also seems like a "safe" choice.
i'll post my first impressions of IBL that i wrote shortly after i received the pcb in the black label thread, in case you want some more info about IBL still.
indeed muchi muchi pork might see an update in the future (though i don't think they'll make a habit of releasing updated versions after it's initial release, or at least i hope not). i'm sure that MMP will soon be dropping in price a bit, though i doubt that it will ever become cheap.
anyway, i'd love to hear which one you've chosen once you've made your decision.

Technically speaking, Arrange came after BL, so you can't call it an improvement. Its simply a bastardization of original Raizing mechanics to cater to a predominatly Cave audience due to poor sales of the original Ibara. The rarity makes it a collector piece only.eretsua wrote:i think that going for IBL is a good choice. it's fun game to play with some significant improvements over regular ibara and arrange.

There's one here:hermosaguy wrote:Thanks for the info guys! I'm on board for Ibara Black Label, but I'd rather DDP Black Label, and I'd be willing to pay through the nose for it, but no one wants to give it up. Mind you none of this is for collecting, I just wanna play the damn games!

I have no idea if they are a reputable company or if the art is original though.
What are the differenes between standard DOJ and Black Label?

Neo Amusement are OK but their shipping costs can be harsh. I don't like the way they sometimes hide information also.
I ordered a Mark of the Wolves kit from them. On the plus side, I couldn't really get a full kit anywhere else at the time so that was cool.
on the negative side, shipping took a while, I got the feeling that the price was hiked a bit and they also did not make mention of the box - which while was original, it had some marker pen writing on it which was not described (in fact was hidden)

i would advice against it, seller is way to dodgy to send him €1000 up front imo.Geezer wrote:

thats been up there for ages and ive asked the seller a few times about a proper photo or information about the game and come up zilch, im guessing the artwork is copied since every game he sells is a "kit"

I am getting that feeling too...I asked about originality of the game (if cave sticker was intact and if the art was original and not a copy) and they told me there was fast and safe shipping, completely ignoring my question...sven666 wrote:i would advice against it, seller is way to dodgy to send him €1000 up front imo.Geezer wrote:

you're probably true, yes. though of course, we don't know when the arrange mode was completed it could be before or after the final build of black label (which is the 6th of feb, 2006, i believe). so "improvement" wasn't the strongest choice of word, no. i'm partially blaming this on a language barrier between english and my native tongue...Dave_K. wrote:Technically speaking, Arrange came after BL, so you can't call it an improvement.eretsua wrote:i think that going for IBL is a good choice. it's fun game to play with some significant improvements over regular ibara and arrange.

be that as it may this is the exactly the reason why i like ibl better than the original. where i find the original to be tedious, headache inducing (though this could be due to the ps2-port) and simply no fun. i do really like arrange cause it took a step away from raizinng and towards a more standard cave system. ibl however took even more steps towards cave that actually has more less become a true cave game with some interesting raizing elements.
how exactly do you mean? like the only reason why people might be interested in ibl is because it's rare? or that because of it's rarity it has (automatically) become a collector's piece? or different all together?Dave_K. wrote:The rarity makes it a collector piece only.
i'd also advise against spending a 1000+ euro without some very good references. or at least some really good pictures and descriptions of the condition. and indeed it's been for sale through neoamusement for ages, yes. i inquired about some other products they were having up for sale a while back but never got a reaction.Sven666 wrote:i would advice against it, seller is way to dodgy to send him €1000 up front imo.

Thanks again for all the feedback. This was very insightful for purchasing and passing on it at the same time, but regardless its in the mail! I will give my thoughts on it within a few days. I can't wait!

i've inquired on this kit in the past, the art is not original. i've asked several times over several months, to get the same answer. they also would not provide better pictures, which led me to believe that they didn't actually have it in personal stock, rather that they would source it.
tell us how this transaction ends up, and what you did recieve when you get a chance (if you're not too busy playing the game that is...)

Thats my thing...I'm not big on 'collecting' but would just want to play the game. But if I'm spending that much for a board, just a few more for art or anything else counts as a perk so when down the road (if and when) I should decide to sell anything, it will retain its value. That is mostly why I am looking for the board and art, but not closed to the idea of just the board...plus the art is so damn beautiful!sven666 wrote:ah i see, a fine choice that too, both are great games and highly collectible to boothermosaguy wrote: Nope, Ibara black Label...still holding off on DOJ.
