The Music of Parodius on Wikipedia.

Post by EddyMRA »

Since RF-Emporium died, I've gotten questions about my former Music of Parodius section. I've put up all of my information from my now-defunct website on Wikipedia.

The article is here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Parodius_Music

The Parodius series' music mostly consists of fanciful rearrangements of classical music.

RE
There are occasionally rearrangements of music from other Konami games, including music from the Gradius series.
The music also includes rearrangements of music from other Konami games, most notably the Gradius series.
DUN
There are even rearrangements of some popular music.

Other than that, very informative. I always wondered about some of these songs, and if all of them are public domain or if Konami is just lucky they haven't been sued yet.

That's something you could have PM'ed me about. Seriously. And you could have done without the condescending tone.

Wasn't meant to be condescending. Perhaps a clarification smiley was in order.

Thanks Alluro, it's too bad that your own page is gone though, I liked it.

Oh, I think Oshaberi stage two / Haydn is an error. I'll tell you more once I checked it.

So, you added your infos to wikipedia. Very nice. :)

And thanks to it I got the infos I was asking for via pm and everyone will be able to look up the track infos.

BTW:
On Oshaberi's stage two:
The BGM also features the opening part of "Yuko's theme" and later a short part of "Shiori's theme" both BGMs from the game Tokimeki Memorial.

Well that makes Wikipedia a slightly better place now , thanks for putting the page up.

It's a shame some of the Parodius tracks got changed for Parodius Portable, some of the songs they axed I miss, some of the new ones don't feel the same, but they do grow on you. There's an exception though that I consider blasphemy as they could've used something else, stage 1 in Jikkyou they changed the disco song, That's the Way I Like It, to some song from DDR or Beatmania, definitely stands out as a song that just doesn't belong in any Paro game (and it sticks out like a sore thumb).

So this must mean Jikkyo Oshaberi Parodius has two seperate OSTs for their respective console versions?

I'm asking this because I'm playing it in Parodius Portable for my PSP, and the first stage happens to be based of Dance Dance Revolution's "Brilliant2U" by Naoki Maeda.

That's the only song I believe in Jikkyou that replaced an older song, but they should've used something else and not a DDR song.

What other music changes has the PSP version undergone? I can add them to WIKI.
