I have this one that's available at PA. Never had any problems with it.Davey wrote:
Oh, and input lag varies greatly among different USB converters. I have two: one is great, the other is basically useless. I'll see if I can find any links for my good one.
EDIT: I found it, but apparently Play-Asia no longer carries it: link

Sorry to be O.T. but since people are talking about USB adapters I thought I'd ask...
Anyone know of a reliable SS to USB adapter? I have an SS controller I use with a DC adapter for DC games. I want to be able to use it for mame though.
Would SS -> DC -> USB create lag because of too many adapters?

Did the talks of acquiring Mills fall through?Icarus wrote:I don't even know if namakoteam will be returning in its entirety this year, as everyone is quite busy now. -_-;;
If the rest of the guys are unable to participate this year, I might be up as a free agent or solo player. We'll see what happens.
Seconded.Acid King wrote:On a side note, Drink and Fly should have atleast a 4 drink minimum this year.
We should do a shot whenever we slaughter Team Germany on a week.

And again, I don't know if the rest of the team will be available to participate this year. I'd like to return of course (I have an individual championship title to defend, after all ^_-), but I leave the fate of the team in the hands of my teammates.

I use this USB adapter for my Saturn controller. I haven't noticed any serious lag with it.

I got it off ebay, so it was a little cheaper. I haven't tried a PS2 or Dreamcast controller yet, but a Saturn controller works fine.

OK, I'm kind of setting it up how I want, I guess. Some people I automatically include (from a smaller board, we've been preparing a bit already so I know they're into it). Oh, and there are no geographic requirements.GaijinPunch wrote:Are last year's members automatically on Team Turbo... even if they don't meet the geographic requirements?
twe is out. Nemo is gone and definitely could've played more...
You played two or three weeks. That is not enough this time, since that places a little bit too much pressure on some other people. If you want to give a solid effort for at least four weeks of the five that is cool. I have to be the mean old team captain.

I'm sure I can play every week this time (I won't be doing a cross-continential move at the time). As a father of a still young child, how much I can play each week is another question. How good I will be at any of the games, the biggest question.Rob wrote: You played two or three weeks. You don't even need to have been there to qualify.professor ganson wrote:Are we doing this by region again? I've been to Germany. Is that enough to qualify for consideration for team Germany?
However, we have our own board where we discuss our wicked strategies and make fun of Team Drink & Fly in our obscure language, unintelligible to all other teams. So I guess proficiency in German is sort of required.
Also, looks like this year we'll be "Team Austro-Germany".

Yeah, I've anticipated every game that might be picked and we've been practicing them since January.Icarus wrote:Oho.Rob wrote:(from a smaller board, we've been preparing a bit already so I know they're into it)
(tiny exaggeration)
If the organizers buckle under the Cave pressure I'll just start practicing Progear and Dangun now, so let me know guys.

So do we have Austrians on this board? My wife's parents are from Tyrol.CIT wrote:You don't even need to have been there to qualify.professor ganson wrote:Are we doing this by region again? I've been to Germany. Is that enough to qualify for consideration for team Germany?

Thanks for considering me! My German is really rusty so I should pass. I don't want to be insecure about my playing and my language skills.

I am sorry professor ganson, I surely would have liked to welcome you into our team. And the language barrier in our board wouldn't be that much of a problem, I guess... maybe it would be a bit challenging. But we are already full on stock. I am afraid that we might have even more than 7 people on our small board who want to join the STGT, but probably not enough to build two teams...professor ganson wrote:I'm looking for a team. To all newcomers looking for a team
You can simply register, without any team, in the registration thread which will be opened next week. Then we will automatically build teams and have a discussion where everyone would like to play or which playing field he is, there will probably some lower tier teams too if you are not so confident about your scores. Or feel free to open your own thread and recruit a new face team by yourself.

Its an all round event after all.
Mills will probably enter if he can get his hands on the games, but its most likely that he'd have to make trips to my place.
Mulletgeezer is around......lurking
I'd like to see elbarto, Freddie and Smraedis return.

Summer is approaching and the beginnings of the tournament should be starting before you know it. FEKA USA (now unofficially "Turbo Team") was shamed into a #2 finish and as captain I'm taking the initiative to ensure a better result.
1. Are you good at 2D shoot 'em ups?
2. Do you like to win?
3. Do you get mad when you don't win?
Then we want you!
2-3 new players needed. Necessary skills: ability to download and operate MAME!! A strong placement in STGT '06 preferred. PM or post in thread. Good luck!
Wow, I fit those criteria..... particularly the "Do you get mad when you dont win?" one.
And actually been playing Giga Wing a bit too much..... That score isnt too hard to do, no. As long as Im paying attention, hehe.
Ah, Giga Wing, tis a favorite of mine, indeed. Though I still hate that FREAKING BOAT......

Sorry. I don't have the backing of a stupidly loaded Russian billionaire to go buy ancient players on a whim.Shatterhand wrote:I heard my team put me in the transfer market for a value of $20 million. Anyone willing to pay that much up?
I do my business in the youth players market. Invest in the future. Joke, by the way. ^_-
