I'm actually really enjoying it. If you take it as it's own title, and avoid comparisons, then it's a great portable game. Really, I'm not much of a fan of the original, but this one has been stuck in my GBA for weeks. It's simple, but has a really fun system of counterattacks whereby you can block and stun any attacker who dares to come at you. On top of that you have "anger mode" or something like that, where a little meter builds up as you fight and can then be unleashed, which turns you into a glowing/raging version of yourself that will quickly destroy pretty much anything. Add in magic and a simple RPG-esque leveling-up system and I think you have a really solid game with nice graphics and solid control.
Graphically, the style is very different from the first. The sprites seem a lot smaller (in ratio to the screen size, not just because they are on the GBA) and much less detailed. And while both games had a pixellated low-resolution kind of look to them, for some reason it seems so much harder on the eyes in the GBA game.
The times I've played it on emu, it's utterly unplayable at times thanks to the slowdown. I've heard that the emu makes it slowdown, but it could be bs.
"Sooo, what was it that you consider a 'good salary' for a man to make?"
"They should at least make 100K to have a good life"
...
I've tried this via emulation, glad I didn't purchase the GBA cart. I didn't like the pace of the game, The system just didn't feel right to me for some reason.

No wonder. I was thinking my PC got a virus or something when I played that game. To be honest, AGH feels sorta like Astro Boy meets Garou meets D&D to me. D&D spells and general gameplay, heavy focus on just defending attacks, and Astro Boy atmosphere, attacks, and dashing jumps.
