I have '94, '96, '97, '98, '02, '03, and Neowave. I would say '02 is my favorite. It just seems to be the perfect amalgamtion of all the best qualities of the series- smooth as butter gameplay, great animation, great for competition. I also like Neowave a lot, since it's basically 2K2 with high-res backgrounds and "grooves" (for lack of a better word).

I've got KOF98 MVS cart, best of the series I've played. Haven't tried the newer versions though (2003 and up).

Great game with a great cast except for a few annoying ones... Everyone knows Choi is pain in the butt, but I hate fighting Chang too. Big dumb tub of lard, why does the Korean team have to get such stupid characters?

btw - watch out for the 2004 edition MVS popping up all over. Apparently it's just a hacked version of 2002 with some new graphics.

I have '98 on MVS as well. Great game, but I don't play it that much... somehow the timing in the KOF series always feels too precise to me... I can't get combos to come out well like I can in some other games. I do love playing as Shermie in '98 though... she has a good mind game.

I like 2k1 and 2k2 a lot as well.... those two had the best lineup and were a lot of fun in my opinion, although the bgs and music were kind of weak.

No your kidding some people say that? I thought the backgrounds looked well neat. You can also play the original Neo cart version, for those who don't like the upgrade.

With all that, I would have thought people would love to get this game.
