Damn, I suck at this game. Most people are using Swordfish. Can someone tell me which that is? Is it the dark-haired girl, the dark-haired guy or the light-haired guy? Thanks much.

Swordfish is the red ship, cant remember her name. Mackeral is the blue ship, flown(is that a word?) by Card. Scallop is the yellow ship flown(?) flown by Judy.

Check out Icarus's guide in the strategy section, it can help you manage rank, and your lives. :wink:

@moving target
Difficulty 4 is only the Saturn's default setting, the actual arcade difficulty is 5. Could you may open another board for arcade difficulty scores? :)

Current score on arcade difficulty (5):
AVE - 10,074,860 - Stage 6 - Toryuu

Never noticed there were new scores posted till now, what ship is that btw?

I dont have time to redo the table just now. Will have to think about it as it will fracture the table up and I'm not sure if everyone has posted the setting they were playing at.

Toryuu is the red ship. I wondered which one's called "Mackerel" and stuff, where do those translations come from?

So can someone please explain the surplus bomb bonus thingy? I´m keeping the rank down and I wait around an extra two minutes for item carriers on the first two bosses but I can only get like 9 or 10 bombs (at best!) by the time I reach stage five and by then I´ll have to use them. Is there a way to make the item carriers drop bombs more frequently or is it purely random?

Died at the beginning of stg3 but decided to keep playing which proved to be a good choice. My stg6 was 9,4 mil and that´s with pretty sloppy play the whole first half and with 50,000 pts in end bonus, so it must be possible to squeaze out at least 12 millions from that stage. Did get an x3 on the ship´s last form before Nemesis thanks to an item carrier but that was just pure luck. I think it was just about to self-destruct too...
