Vertical shmups ship names.

Maybe I'm just clueless but it seems like horizontal shmups have more named ships than vertical shmups. I'd be interested in learning if this is true....

In the middle of writing a pro logging industry paper actually.

Oh and I am listening to various rock groups such as CCR , The Beatles and Foreigner.

But there seems to be a lack of named ships in verts.

Ironically, you're right. Every ship name I remembered so far are horizontal shmup ships.

On the other hand, there's Axelay, Aura-Wing, the Giga Wing ships, the Mosquitoes,
MX5000, Twinbee, Daedalus, Reco, Those two ships from Ketsui, Even Vic Viper became vertical at one point in Salamander and I can just go on forever and ever ... okay I'll just shut up now.
