playlogic is a dutch company, not german so i don't think they've made an all german title and certainly not a dutch-only title. my bet is that it's in english and that it might have some additional languages like german and spanish, though i don't know this for sure.

i still want them to release the gba version of xyanide! that one looked so cool!!!

Yeah I asked about it on this forum a couple of months ago but never got an answer. Atari deutschland is the publisher of Xyanide Resurrection.

Yes, this is multilanguage.

But it isn't very good. Unlike the first game, Xyanide Resurrection plays more like a railshooter. Instead of dual analog shooting, you have a Starfox-like targeting reticle. There is absolutely no sensation of forward movement, no interesting enemy patterns, and no real challenge - your lifebar is fairly large and often replenished. I am very unimpressed.

As well as can be expected, given all the other problems. Aside from the usual problem of the crap analog nub, it isn't difficult to move the ship anywhere you want.

That still doesn't alleviate the problems. It's difficult to dodge rockets when you have no way of estimating their distance. A couple of bosses also use Dodonpachi-style bullet spam patterns. Imagine trying to dodge a pattern like that when viewing it head-on.

Nice news that it's multilanguage, I am going to get it as soon as I get myself a PSP.

Agree completely. I am very disappointed considering that I love Xyanide (hopefully it will be BC soon).

I'd love to see GBA Xyanide as well, but, AFIK, it's dead. There's no mention of it on Playlogic's site. Darn shame, because I remember when the trailer was first released; it looked awesome.

A review of the PS2 version of Xyanide Resurrection has been posted by Eurogamer including some screenshots.

Youch!

Not very flattering. And the boy busted out his pocket thesaurus just to twist the knife another couple of degrees.

did that review disappear or am i too dumb to follow a link (gets me a "page doesn't exist" error?).
i still want the gba game. and only the gba game.
i mean wrap it in shitty kiddy box-art and a budget price tag and dump it in the bargain bins to compete with the US release of Trickstar for the dubious honor of last ever gba game or whatever, but uh, that looked fun, yes.

Nope, the review has indeed disappeared. Apparently the game that doesn't exist now has a review that doesn't exist. It's a conspiracy. I should've saved the review and the screenshots as evidence...

Weird... Someone at Eurogamer may have inadvertently violated some press embargo on reviews of the PS2 version. I think I recall they've pulled a few reviews in the past for such reasons. Or the publisher may have actually shipped Eurogamer a PS2 version by mistake instead of the intended PSP version, so they were not authorized to review it... maybe we'll see a PSP review posted in its place soon.

You can still see evidence of the 13/05/2007 PS2 review in their database, using this search result ("Xyanide Resurrection - 13/05/2007 06:59 - Xust xry xarder.") but the article has now been pulled from the site so the link now leads nowhere.

However as eerie proof that nothing can ever be "unpublished" from the internet, Google have already cached the entire review

Link: Google Cache of Eurogamer review

And there we see the original screenshot links are still working, which means Eurogamer only bothered to pull the review text from their site, neglecting to actually pull the screenshots...

Those pics are from the PSP version. Note the widescreen view. This is really damn odd...

They don't look like PSP shots to me, unless they've been scaled. They are 640x363, which would make sense for a letterboxed PS2/Xbox1 game at 480i/p. (PSP's screen res is lower than that.)

Oh damn it's for real, wtf. I still can't play Xyanide on XBOX cause they didn't backward compatible it for the 360.

Is it gonna be available only for Europe?

Xyanide was a late XBOX release, so it may still get the cut for the 360-I certainly hope so.

Regarding your question:

I hope it gets a budget release over here; unless it's like playing Iridion 3D, then I'd pick it up.

I surely hope so, I don't see myself buying an original XBOX just for this.

How do they choose which game gets backward compatible by the way? Is it by request?

I don't think the game will get a US release, I will pick it up EUR version. But problem I am sure it won't have a 60hz option, won't it?

I think you can request certain games; at the beginning it was all about getting the big hits, like Halo, compatible. Now, I have no idea how it's done. I doubt the game will have a 60hz option.

M$ employee: "WTF is Xyanide??!"

Lol, well do you know any websites that sells XBOX's? xbox.com don't sell any: http://www.xbox.com/en-US/hardware/x/xb ... efault.htm

Nevermind, I got the requests mixed up with requests for games you'd like to see on XBLA, which they have done. (So, can someone with XBLA please request Solvalou and Flying Shark? )

Is this game still due out for the PS2 in the US? The release date is listed as "Q2" for this year.

I got the JPN version of this.

This is not a shmup. I haven't played the original game, so I can't compare with it, but this here is definitely not a shmup, it plays more like Star Fox. It certainly throws some really shmuppy bullet-patterns on you though.

It had the potential to be a great game, but the levels are too long and drab, the music sucks (The music has to be real bad for me to complain about it), and the 360o rotate thing is plain stupid.

If anyone wants more info about it, let me know. This is the newest thread I found about the game... I have the feeling no one have played this at all. I don't want to see discussion about this on the shmups chat anymore :)

edit: I seen this info was already given by bVork. I'm sorry

Yeah, it's definitely not a shmup-a quick search for it on Youtube reveals that. Too bad about how it turned out, though-I love XBOX Xyanide, although I don't know if it's BC with the 360 yet.
