I was told the Saturn version of Donpachi sucks...

Is this true? If so, what's wrong with it? Also, are there any problems with the Saturn version of DDP? I have both of these games on MAME, and would love to have them on TV. I would also like to get DDP DOJ, but that's too expensive for right now.

The Saturn version of DDP is the best console version AFAIK. Of course, I'm sure it is best on Mame.

From what I've gathered (I haven't looked in depth) the graphics took the biggest hit during the transition from Arcade to Saturn and they have a bad "wobble" effect unless you TATE it. There are probably several topics strewn about the forum. Just search a bit.

The board FAQ is extremely helpful for situations like this; I was thinking of getting Dodonpachi recently and wanted to know if it would be worth it, and the board FAQ was the first place that I went. Even faster than searching, for popular established information like this.

I now know enough to suggest that the above mention by junkeR might be reversed at least, but I'll leave the discretion up to the avid FAQ-reader and forum-searcher.
