What is the value of these games?

Post by jpolz »

I bought 2 new games (Japanese Imports) off eBay: Ikaruga & Zero Gunner 2. Both are used, but in about as mint conidtion as possible and both have the spine cards in mint condition as well. I bought them becuase I like the games, but curious as to what the collector value is? I paid $20 for both inlcuding shipping.

Guess I just got lucky? I couldn't believe the bids didn't come pouring in final minutes.

Ok, that scares me.

I think the person just isn't very good with words....he's got pictures of the originals in the auction.

I'll raise hell if he tries to send me CDRs.

You got a deal for sure, but I think the market is pretty saturated by both of those titles so maybe it's no surprise. Zero Gunner 2 got a budget rerelease and Ikaruga's gotten so much hype over the years that I think everyone who ever wanted one has gotten it by now, so maybe it's more just timing that anything else. Whatever the cause, enjoy your new games. They're both great to be sure.

It is a good working copy and works as if it were the original.
I'm guessing everyone read that and thought the auction was for CDRs, that's probably why you got such a good price.

It crossed my mind, but he's got pictures of the originals all laid out and 193 positive feedback. If it does turn out to be a scam, I don't think I'll have a hard time getting my money back.

He's wording is kinda vague though....

Definitely a rip-off. The seller certainly has some nerve putting the picture of the original game in there (check out his previous auction here). Leave him negative feedback, no matter if he offers an immediate refund or not (of course he will try to do it, judging from his 100% feedback). It's lesson learned I think, too bad.

Maybe people were reluctant to bid because he's got the discs laying naked on the floor. That alone would be enough to keep me from bidding. Otherwise, each of those titles should be going for at least $30 on eBay. DC Ikaruga was going for about $50 around last Christmas, and it's been a while since the ZG2 reissue so it's getting a bit difficult to find again.

Edit: Nevermind, after seeing the auction posted by oxtsu, it's pretty clear that you probably got ripped off with some pirated CD-R's.

Ripped off, man. Isn't it strange how he sold so many copies of Rez? And does something from this past auction look familiar: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... eName=WDVW

You can certainly get deals from Ebay but that wasn't one of them. Shoulda listened to the description...

Oh well, chaulk this one up under "lesson learned".

I'm not too worried about it, I should be able to get my money back rather easily.
