Is this a PS2 from V4-V10?

Post by durias »

I'm planning on buying a new PS2. How can I make sure that it's a version from V4-V10? In other words, how can I tell if it's a version 4, 5, 6, 7, or 8 console?

(Oh. And I do realize that a version 4, 5, 6, 7, or 8 console has 8 screw covers underneath it. But, since I'm buying it new, I won't have the luxury of being able to check.)

Thanks in advance!

Thanks for the insight! Much appreciated. I'm not sure if I'll be able to view that info on a sealed PS2 (at Target, for instance) but I'll give it a try.

Unfortunately, the above link doesn't cover (or even mention) the SCPH-77001 version of the PS2 (US). Do any of you know if SCPH-77001 is a version from V4-V10?

Thanks in advance!

No, it's a slimline. I don't know of any place in North America you're going to be able to buy a brand new V4-V10 fat PS2 at retail.
