Everytime I put on the ol' "Play and record input", there's this little bug pricking me in the back of the head to **** up [...].
It's a little hard to understand your problem with recording an input file. I don't see why you would mess up more than usual when recording @_@ It's exactly the same, you only clicked on "Play and record input" when launching the game...

Since this hi-score board doesn't normally require proof, when you're new and sound a slight bit suspicious, people won't just believe you like this. I'm new too so I post replays. Just overcome your little problem and do it too !
I feel bad for you if you need to make like 100 runs to achieve 100M again though lol. That would be uncool. If that's the case then just settle for a lower score temporarily... It's no big deal is it ?
jeremycarrier wrote:On a different note, don't settle for a keyboard! I got this PSX adapter from RadioShack for 10 bucks. The DualShock PS2 controller is easily one of gaming's finest, and fits well with 2d AND 3d roms.
Do you play with the directional arrows for shmups on this controller ?!? Isn't that worse than a keyboard, since you're using 1 finger instead of 3 ?
I was thinking about buying one of those sanwa sticks. I think it's supposed to be the best for shmupping right ?

Some people suffer from stage fright type pressure lol.

I just go meh and record replay, maybe watch a couple to see where I'm making my mistakes (actually I end up not watching them at all lol).

my latest score with picture proof (from cel phone camara)

Image

Sonic R - 16,212,470 - C-S - 1-5 - 147 - PSX

Count if if you guys wish. Like I say I am understanding either way.

Oh and for some LOL's  , since I am not a stick guy, all my plays are with a Dual Shock 2 controller. Yes I am using a stock PS2 controller and I find it very good for my play. Maybe I don't need that elusive Saturn PS2 controller after all...

Of note:
I enter my initials as 'JAZ' which is a variation of my nickname (Jazzy)

I took another pic with the Sonic R Saturn game in the picture.

What is there to joke about?

<---My screen name is 'Sonic R'. My hi score initials are 'JAZ'

I took a picture of the hi score screen and used something that would show my screen name. rather than use a piece of paper I thought I be creative :?

Good lord this DDP thread is getting weird

For sonic r - don't worry about proofing your score, but I like the sonic r game pic!

For jeremycarrier - it doesn't need to be an input of a 150million odd score. I'm sure if you just knocked up a 70-80 million and posted it people would believe you. After morden and stahlfeder, hi score thread owners are a little wary of massive scores coming in with no prior experience on this board.

Prometheus has the right idea here. He is new, but he put up an input just to prove to people he did it. After that, he really doesn't need to prove any other score he makes.

Yeah, but Morden score was like...400 million right? Crazy impossible sh!t there.

Whatever. I'm not going to compain anymore. I gave pictures, posts, and my word about my score being legit. If you believe me; thats great. You don't; whatever. I'm done arguing about it. I know what I can do, and I'm proud of it.

This is my last post regarding my high score(I hope). I'm tired of fussing about something so trival as a video game high score.

Did you post here before under a different name? Where/when did you read about Morden's fake score?

Sikraiken - I've been wanting to ask for a while why you've never posted your 500+ million ALL score. I mean, surely after playing it to that extent and finally mastering it you would be proud of your accomplishment and would want to post your high, like you do some of your other scores. I'd like to see the replay myself, or even just a pic. Is it that you did it in an emulator and it doesn't feel genuine like on a PCB?

500+ M ??? No offense here, but since Sikraiken scored only 500,000 in the first checkpoint of the Guwange Italian contest, is it possible for someone who masters DDP to score so low at Guwange ? Anyway, if you really scored 500M @Dodonpachi, RESPECTS!!!

And jeremycarrier like we said just randomly record an inp with a score between 50 and 100M and you'll probably be trusted about the 100M score. Costs you nothing, just make a run like usual and record... You can't fail this badly than you won't ever get over 50M right ? Don't forget to add your initials, post it here and voilà.

Yes, it is more than possible. DDP is different game than Guwange, more than different. DDP is shooter-flying, Guwange is shooter-walking. We can't compare these 2 games.

Well dodging still works pretty much the same, with some differences all right... Can't imagine a true pro unable to dodge stage2 or stage3 in Guwange @_@

Don't mix up things, he scored so low on Guwange because he had no time to play. Dodonpachi is just a different story ;)

I told you, I've been here a while. I've been lurking on this board for quite some time now. I'm not some new guy who comes out of nowhere and yells, "LOL hay look @ mi nuw hi skore!"

Personally I can go to 2-4 in DDP, in Guwange I have problems with all except stage 1, boss 1 and stage 2. From boss 2 are problems only ;) Totally different game type. Looks simple but controlling character is strange.

Umm, no. Guwange and Dodonpachi have vastly different scoring, weapon and movement systems. Just because someone is a master at Dodonpachi doesn't mean they can pick up Guwange and instantly get 60mil on it.

I accidentally scored something like this at one night.

Xargon - 18,890,870 - B-L - 1-6 - 156

I was kind of surprised when I saw I had gotten to stage 6.

Yeah, same for me, I've been playing for 1 hour a day for 25 days, and I can reach stage 5 with full chaining. I can get to 2-4 at Dodonpachi like you do.

heavens no! I can full chain to level 4 (in theory), but after that, shit, I'm gone.
