Specifically, the composer for Last Resort. Most of the songs (boss 1, EVERYTHING from 3-5) are on my favorites list, so I'd like to get the composer's name...
{wonders if he can convince Alluro to do a MUGEN video using "Sonar", "Dusky", or "Legend of King" as the backdrop music}
Desired: Name of a shmup composer

It sounds like the same composer(s) who did the King Of Fighters '94 soundtrack.
KOF'94 composers: Papaya, Brother Hige, Pearl Sibakiti, Ackey
Two of these four could also be Toshio Shimizm and Tatenorio Yamate using aliases. Kyo Kusanagi's stage BGM from KOF'94 sounds like an outtake from Last Resort- it's fairly similar to "Jack to the Metro", the Last Resort Stage 1 BGM.

It's worth noting that the ending theme for Last Resort is called "The Sunset Sky, Part II".
Part I? The ending theme for Fatal Fury. Make of that what you will...
This wouldn't be the only time composers used a fair portion of elements from an earlier work to help build a later work. I'm thinking here of Kawamoto Tamayo's songs for Rayforce and Raystorm. "Geometric City" (RS, st. 1) sounds a LOT like "Penetration" (RF, st. 1). Other similarities with her include "Cracking!" (RF, st. 4)/"Toxoplasma" (RS, st. 6) and "Atrocity" (RF, bosses 5-6)/"Molecular Clock" (RS, bosses 6-7).
