Holy fuck! How much are you playing this.
It took me years to 1-ALL this game in super-scrub form.

If I remember correctly, MrMonkeyMan was getting to 2-4 on the Tsuujou loop within 3 weeks of getting the game.

True Cave skills.

Maybe 5 hours a week? I usually put in a couple credits and then end up credit feeding all the way through the Tsuujou loop once in a sitting. So usually around an hour everytime I put it on.

The Tsuujou loop doesn't seem so bad now. It definitely feels like I might be able to clear it if I can stop losing all my lives on 2-3 and the 2-4 boss. I say this even though I've never even made it to 2-5...

I think it took me 4 or 5 weeks to make the loop, but I like the sound of 3 weeks. Too bad I couldn't match SYO's 7 months to 1cc the Ura loop.

EDIT
I checked and it looks like it was around 5 weeks. Also, it was one year ago today that Valgar first made the Ura loop. What can we expect for March of 2008?

I bought this board when I was somewhat of a Cave virgin. Well... at least playing them competitively. That was likely my first mistake. Might break it out again sometime soon. W/ a screaming kid though, games that don't pause are not very smart to play.

I see this and Mushi Original in your 1CC list. You a semi-Cave hater?

Oh and Mush Maniac at just below 300mil a couple of years ago :? .

I don't hate Cave at all, its just some of their 'chaining' scoring engines force you to exactly copy robotic routes eg. DOJ/Guwange, which is not my idea of fun or freedom. I explained this recently on Shmups Chat, but I do like Ketsui and Mush :) .
You have to really like a game to bother to put the hours in and master it, and I have not decided to do this on any Cave game so far.

I will put a few credits in Ketsui over the coming weeks and months. A Tsuujou loop is all I want, but scoring will be very much secondary.

Congrats again to MrMonkeyMan -> A mindblowing 1st loop  .

Well, you have to hit the score minimum to get there, no. :)

Whoops, am I getting it wrong...or?
I'm referring to the <6lives & Bombs round, not the Special Round (1 life no bomb min 120mil).

Do you still have to get 120mil minimum on the non-special round?

EDIT:- LUN wrote -
TSUUJOU is enough for me from Ketsui. I want it
I feel the 1-ALL damn near, so I'm already thinking about the second loop, which is my real goal. Is trying to NEVER use bombs a good way to reach it? The game gives you 7 lives, so if you manage to survive, the last life would be enough for the loop. The reverse side of the medal is that you go into it with only one life and 3 bombs, worst case scenario.
Can it be a good starting point for further improvements?
http://cowboy.ikaruga.co.uk/bbs/viewtop ... highlight=

& from the strat:-
NORMAL "TSUUJOU" LOOP - Total DEATHS + BOMBS => 6
-No 120mil minimum is mentioned^
SPECIAL "URA" LOOP (AKA REVERSE LOOP/SIDE) - NO MISS/NO BOMBS, 120+ Million Score

Here are the known differences in each loop. I will start with the NORMAL Loop and how it differs from the first round, and then how the SPECIAL ROUND differs from the NORMAL Loop.

TSUUJOU LOOP:

-Instead of releasing chips, enemies release Suicide bullets.
-Suicide Bullets are PINK.
-Chip Number is ALWAYS 1.
-You can stop suicide bullets from being released (seal) by being within a certain radius of enemies.
-If suicide bullets are sealed, then no chips are gained.
-Difficulty is drastically increased.
-I guess I could scrape 120mil if need be :? .

Didn't know that. Guess all that bombing of mine is actually what screwed me then. :)

Yep, the only requirement to get the TSUUJOU loop is to use less or 6 bombs+deaths!

Yep, LUN's no bomb strategy is a winner. That way you guarantee the TSUUJOU loop even on your last life.

For me, I am more satisfied to get the single-loop ending than go to 2-1. Feels like I've got unfinished business when I get to either loop. I might try it one day.

Zakk - 151,374,456 - 1-5 - Panzer Jager

One of the stupid black helicopters took me out right before the big tank at the end of Stage 5. One dumb death on the stage 4 boss...

I bombed like a girl after the stage 5 midboss. Obviously not at the right times!

Bah, I just got 303 million on the Tsuujou loop. Finally made it to 2-5 though. Run ended just before the descent and I still had two bombs left. Could of had a new record.

I will beat this loop!

EDIT

Mother fuck.

I just got to the exact same spot of 2-5 again, but this time I had an extra life in stock as well as two bombs and I made it one enemy wave further. Also got 307 million points on the run, but fuck me. Lost my last two lives in about 10 seconds.

Man, it's going to feel weird overwriting an URA score with a normal loop score.

Haha yeah, I sort of gave up. I won't be playing the game again for a while since I took my supergun home.

But I thought he could update it the next time I improve the score :)

Thanks for sticking up though!

What the...

When I responded a page or so ago to his post and said I updated the post, I specifically remember actually updating the post.

Maybe I hit preview and forgot to hit submit? I dunno.

I think I'm going to start doing drugs so I have an excuse for this crap

Hey, I made the Ura loop again tonight. I only got a whopping 260 million points though. 2 deaths on 2-1 and 3 deaths on 2-2 kind of fucked me up. Not sure how I did so well my first time.

EDIT

And then a couple credits later I get this.

MrMonkeyMan - 331,263,326 - 2-5 - Tiger Schwert - Proof

I made it to the boss which is awesome. Tsuujou of course.
