i make this stream with my pc, i don't have 75€/month to locate a server xD
so my PC stream(from france) go to US, then zeeen 8) i can't do anymore, maybe downgrade the birate, 128kbps -- to --> 96kbps, i don't know if it's work better (a little?)
i see there was 8 simultaned connection on the radio, is there the limit?!
my hankey poor stream argh xD ( )

& i don't know which is use more/less stream?! your PC player or the Webplayer...
i think the web player use too more stream but i c'an't verify it
so listen the radio with Winamp is the best solution, the better mp3 player for me

2 listners on air now! :) (i go to play garegga...)

Oh yeah, I'd be happy with 56kbps stream, personally. I like the low bitrate streams, something about 'em that's just part of the internet radio experience. It shouldn't matter what utility you're using to stream, as long as it's using your own bandwidth, the only limit will be just that: your alloted bandwidth.

So, what is your upload speed capped at? Then you can determine how many listeners are possible with what streaming quality.

Coolest fucking thing I've ever seen.

I really want to help you out giving you more music tracks if you want.

Or I can help with the steaming in the US.

Awesome. Playing it via iTunes. I usually do not pay much heed to the music when playing shooters. Nice to hear it seperately.

I'm listening now. I've been trying to get my roommate to make me a new MP3 DVD to listen to at work, but to no avail. This works great ^_^

I'd like to stick in requests for Mushihime-sama, Einhander, and all that is Touhou doujin (Perfect Cherry Blossom, Impresihable Night, Phantasmagoria of Flower View, etc).

 thanks a lot, really

that's not an old idea in reallity, a few weeks i start to rip VGM & dl it for shmups essentially.

in fact, i had a little experience of streaming with some friend on "DIVA RADIO - Funk music paradise" whose it ridiculos & now is one of the most important funk radio.

so, i think i could purpose a free shmup stream, because i would try, share & make pleasure.
i know i'm not a powerfull radio, i do what i can...

well, answers now,
Aquas wrote:So, what is your upload speed capped at? Then you can determine how many listeners are possible with what streaming quality.
796ks upload & actually bandwidth is 128ks... calculate

(1)I really want to help you out giving you more music tracks if you want.
(2)Or I can help with the steaming in the US.
(1)to help me, that's simple, go here, dl the COMPLETE OST (i insist) & .ZIP it.
you could PM me, to advert me, then we use skyp, msn to transfert the file.
(2) we may discuss about it, an awesome idea.
but your PC must be powered "on" all the time, i reboot 1 time 3 days, you must take care of the stream & the server plugin are "ok",
& try to connect to the radio a soon as possible, every hours is good rate.
but for the moment i can try to reduce the bandwidth to 96ks, i'm afraid less is worth.
Raiden Fighters 2 wrote:This radio is possible to feel it with the 56K?
i think you encounter problem, because the actually bandwith is too high, more than double :? but that's for a good quality of the listening bandwith, maybe i downgrade it but no 56k :(
Ayanami wrote:Awesome. Playing it via iTunes. I usually do not pay much heed to the music when playing shooters. Nice to hear it seperately.
Yeah! xD that's works with all! :D

With help from Seb@s, I have my own shmup radio station in the US!

The link is: http://74.226.237.184:8000/stream.mp3.m3u

I only have four soundtracks from the following games:

Under Defeat
Gradius V
Zanac Neo
ESPGaulda
Ikaruga

I'm testing the thing for the night, I need a good number of people on the server to see if it's stable or not. It's being stable for me and Seb@s in France so I guess it's doing great.

I need people to test it, so please TEST it for me!

Fighter17: It's stable right now, got disconnected once between 1 song, of 3 songs.

I do like 56kbps for the quality. I don't mind it much at all.

According to the winamp.com forums, the formula for number of listeners is upload rate / bitrate. So for you Seab@s, it would be:

176/56 = 3.14 listeners. But that kind of seems odd to me for some reason, can you see how many listeners you're getting? 3.14 listeners is the supposed threshold of listening users untill buffering.

Also according to them, 24kbps parametric stereo aacplus streaming format will work good for 56k users. So perhaps you could consider streaming it like that, if more people regularly listen. For a casual stream, though... 56kbps might be alright for people who just randomly tag on. Even if its 3.4 listeners until chopping occurrs.

If this thing gets "bigger" here, I'd be glad to hunt down soundtracks and contribute to the radio.

Here's a warning people, I forgot about this:

My upload rate is 42kb max.

Ouch, but I'm hoping it'll be stable.
