Are there places that can repair a TV's AV jacks???....

Remember my post about the dead PSTwo? Well, today my Dreamcast wouldn't work on my TV either, so I tried it on a neighbor's TV and it works fine.

So it seems that the problem is with my TV's AV jacks, do I need to get a new TV, or is there any place that can replace/repair the AV jacks? It's an RCA, if that helps.

I freeley admit that it was probably my fault for plugging and unplugging SO many consoles into these jacks-is there anything like the AV equivilent to a power strip?

You may want to try taking it to a Sears shop. I did an assignment for them, and they seem to be top of the line and very competitive when it comes to price and service. Just be aware they may charge you for simply looking at the thing and give you an estimate.

How big is your TV? If it's less than 20 inches, I suggest you invest in a new unit. Or an RGB monitor.

Log onto cragislist and find a tv in your area for cheap.

Oh boy. I had the same problem via a VCR which I used to plug my A/V cables into. I could be wrong since I'm no technician but I don't think they're at all easy to repair/replace. If your TV has S-video or component, maybe you can get cables for those instead.

I was thinking of building one of these into a TV that I was repairing for someone ("she loves the input"):

Auto AV Selector (Blaze)

Not sure of its quality or viability. I was going to dismantle it, mount it to the inside of the TV, wire it to the AC in, and add some external jacks. Still haven't fixed the TV, it's been two years, I think that she hates me now.

(She did say to junk it if I couldn't fix it, though, since she had already bought a new one. I still feel really bad about it though, and I'll be giving some OKAY, off-topic, sorry.)

Edit- There's also this thing. It's for component, but I thought that "RCA is RCA," and that it could hopefully be used for any such multiple connection switching:

YPbPr Power Box (Farmer)

The bonus to this one is that it doesn't require power, but the bonus to the Blaze product mentioned above is that it can auto-select the source, with a switch to toggle in case you have two sources on at the same time (wheres this one requires manual switching, I think).

"A switchbox?" The only switchboxes for TV's that I've seen are "A-B" ones that are for RF.

I just need something to prevent this from happening again-I have (or will once I get my PSTwo or a replacement back) 2 consoles, and plugging and unplugging AV's constantly has to cause wear and tear.

Then again, the main reason the guy at Circuit City suggested as to why I should get a new TV is, "Because technology has advanced a lot in 2 years." (I got this current TV in Jan. '03.) So maybe this couldn't happen again. *shrugs*

I don't suppose that there's any place where I could get a 12-17 inch monitor w/AV jacks and sound for cheaper then a TV? I mean, I never even watched TV on mine.

BTW guys, when they say 13 inch Tv in ads, are they going by width or length?? 'Cause I just measured mine, and the screen's 13 inches from top to bottom, and 17 inches from left to right.

You're looking in the wrong places then. I've got a box with 6 S-Video inputs.

EDIT: Here's a random example from Amazon. I haven't used this particular product so I'm not recommending it specifically, just showing that these types of things are out there.
