freddiebamboo wrote: EDIT: Also, @CHI - Can you get it working in a window yet? If you can, it's maybe not worth muddling about for ages trying to get the full screen version.

CHI: when you run Guwange in windowed mode, you have rotated screen still?

@Chi:
Did you already try out, what I suggested?
A friend of me had the same problem like you, the screen couldn't be turned to "normal". But it could be fixed with the grphic drivers setting in MAME.

In case you overlooked my previous post: :)
I wrote: I remember a friend had the same problem with the rotation settings not working at all. I think we finally could get these option to work with enabling/disabling direct 3d or maybe direct draw. Dunno exactly, but I am pretty sure it was one of those graphics settings.

I think it could be solved by enabling direct 3D.

Does your windowed mode look like this CHI?

Image

It should be quite easy to get this display and its not too much smaller than full screen mode.

Hm, this thread start to look like some help-me-with-my-software-thing.

I've have to say that the Guwange contest is a good initiative. But I wonder why you'd chose this game, is there a special reason?

I'm not sure if I gonna participate, sorry :-( I just don't seem do get control over this game. I think I can survive a couple of levels but there is so much going on so i'm not really know what I'm doing! But it's a well made game for sure.

Lol a help me thread is totally ok ;)
Edge wrote: But maybe you should make jumping tiers possible after the first checkpoint? If someone feels out of his tier he could simply move up or down then. As you can't accurately decide which tier everyone is in advance. You could then use the checkpoint to change the tier formations. If you like that idea, you could put that into the rules as well. :)
Not this time please :help:
Seriously, this would allow players to play worse than usual in order to move down and won an easy 20e, for example. Stupid, but similar shit could happen. In my opinion for this contest it's better to keep the rules as they are, and learn at the end of it ;)
I wanted to say another thing about this, but at the moment I just can't remember what, err

Neverland is particularly into the game right now, and wanted to challenge himself and everyone on this. Not a good strategy if you want a safe record, but definitely a great idea if you want to raise great competition! That's why I'm arranging everything, I expect an exciting contest :D

I just started playing Guwange today. When you shoot is it supposed to push you back and prevent you from moving forward?

edit: I just watched a vid and the guy was moving forward on the screen while shooting. maybe i'm doing something wrong?

When you use Ghost for firing you can't move up or down.

When I use the regular fire the character is pushed back to the bottem of the screen... unless i hold up while firing, then the character stays put, but i can't advance.

You've probably mapped "Down" and "Fire" to the same button.

.
my idea is to create meeting for all player interested to Realy beat this game and move and arcade/shooting scene
is a good game for all imho and i hope to have many brainstorming and exchange opinion for find way to realize
a higher score out of japan and call new players interest around this type of game.
ihmo Guwange is a great game for any type of player, is a game realy simply to learn ad offer many way to build one all clear
is very hard from endind of 5 stage and 6 stage but in general offer many many method to beat a last boss.

im very happy to watch a contest's list very full and i hope to have a skill for battle with many top tier

:)

Lol, if you're french you're in. The western players only thing is not a rule at the moment but... It would be good to have only western players this time, I think, for the sake of high level competition.

Why top tiers? Do you really feel like that? If the answer is "Hell yeah I'm a beast", good to know :D

*GWRHAHAHAHAAAAAAAA* Hell yeah I'm a beast !!!111oneone

...

*open his eyes* Oh, shit, cruel reality. In fact I'm definitely not a beast  I'm proudly holding a self-proclaimed world record of worst 1cc score ever with 6.2 M (and a high score of something like 6.7 M, so that's far from the local "beast" level ^^').

Erhune, you're in TT right now, as you wanted, but feel free to ask for a change in any moment BEFORE the beginning ;)

You're frightening me, LUN

Anyway, even if I'll probably have a very hard time against the other TT players, I don't consider it fair for those who just started the game to play against someone who already cleared it, even with a pitiful score. So I think I'll stay there!
