You guys get pretty high scores in the first 5 levels. I usually almost reach the last boss and still never got more than 24M yet. I feel crappy now :(

I guess I'm just trying too hard to stay alive and not use too many bombs. I tend to get killed with 4-6 bombs on board at least twice a game.

This isn't actually too bad a tactic. The bomb multiplier bonus starts to really make a difference after stage 3 if you no miss and no bomb. I'm quite sure most of the people on the high score board are playing the game like this, otherwise we would be seeing far higher scores and max chains from everyone memorizing the stage long chains.

Once you get to a point where the game becomes dangerous for you, just start panic bombing anything that comes close and you should be able to get a 1CC - with a decent score from the high chains of stage 5 & 6.

i too use bombs very rarely.

thats because i try to keep my bomb bar at maximum...

i often suicide if i have only 1 bomb left.....then i take a "Bomb" powerup with my new life to get the maximum bomb gauge

eheh suiciding....Battle Bakraid rulez

freddiebamboo - 59,269,350 - C-S - 2-2 - 302 MAX

Poor chaining in this run (missed the 450 on stage 2 and the easy 300 on stage 5), but I managed to get to the loop for the first time. Went in with 3 bombs and no lives spare and had to bomb 3 times to get by the first level, didn't last too long on stage 2 obviously.

Welcome the worst shmuper on the board! Woo!!! I am bothering to post my "high" scores, just for shits and giggles.

Arvandor - 13,444,280 - C-S - 1-5 - 184 max

First time I made it to 1-5 on one credit, and about damn time I say! I don't know why the third boss gives me so much trouble. He really shouldn't... I KNOW I can dodge his stuff, but for some reason I always die on him, sometimes repeatedly.

Nice job powerfuran! I wish I could link together all the stuff I've learned into one complete recorded INP run, but I guess I get stage fright when the cameras are rolling.

Thank you! Now it's time to do a inp, so far the best I've recorde was a 2-1, 50+mil, but knowing that you're being recorded makes you screw everything.
Hope I'll get it soon. :)

I remembered to get a screenshot this time! I accidentally entered a 'K'
instead of an 'R' though.

Totally agree, you start thinking too much about people watching your play and the nerves kick in.

Good score, even without the inp :)

lol ya that was pretty whoopass

I have slightly better scores with the C ships, but they lack the pure awesomeness of this B-L run.

Basically you need to prevent the gauge in the upper left part of the screen from getting empty. It refills every time you kill something, and will stabilize itself when you use the laser on something big.

This will help you :

Anyway welcome to Dodonpachi -.- It's the greatest STG imo ;D

? don't you have a 200M+ score in DDPDOJ? You should be kicking this games' ass all over town. BTW: keeping that doj highscore thread a top 10 only is total BS...I'll never make it in there!
