shoe-sama - 453,100 - Pocky - A

Cleared. Bleh, I would've had a higher score, but my dad printed something, which shifted me away from my zsnes window. Forced me to fight Dark Mantle with the lowest level shot, which was not fun.
I think replay got effed up (desync level 4 when turbo button held down). I'll check it with normal speed playback right now.

This score is embarassingly low. I'll try to raise it a little, but this game is simply all too unpleasant for me.

Since someone already beat meh score, I suppose it wouldn't hurt to put up that replay now.
Lots of messups, but ok.

I'd call it a tie if anything. Because we both finished it with one life in stock. The score really means nothing in this game. In order to beat another one's highscore you had no choice but to start milking, that's why I was so annoyed in the beginning. Anyway, the game was still fun to play so who cares.shoe-sama wrote:Since someone already beat meh score, I suppose it wouldn't hurt to put up that replay now.

Heh, thanks.RotateMe wrote:Thanks for the nice replay, shoe-sama! You go through this pretty speedy, and you make the bosses look very easy. I'll try to 1cc this but it won't happen this weakWell, I guess doing the levels a bit slower and killing more stuff (not milking) might get me a decent score though.
Well, the bosses kinda are easy to begin with. Since your character has so much health, it's pretty hard to get killed by them if you know what you're doing.
Oh man, it's prolly some totally insane no damage speedrun.GaijinPunch wrote:A Japanese player posted a 1CC of Hard mode not long ago. I can try to dig up the link if anyone wants to see.

On hard, Japanese version plays at a faster rate, gives you two lives and one bomb at the start, and has a max bomb capacity of 3. Managed to get to stage 5 boss first try though. Quite expectedly, my crappy weapon level was no match for him.
I kept getting pwnt because I was accidentally getting orange powerups.

1: As far as I know Monday at 5 PM GMT but Ì can't really tell.GaijinPunch wrote:Two questions:
1: When is the contest over?
2: How do you trigger the 1-up after the stage 1 boss?
2: Smash the ... lol I'm missing a word ... the turtles back that jumps around with your short ranged attack after you killed him.
btw: I like this genre, any recommendations?

Tsukiyozoushi for starters. Twinkle Tale, Fray CD: Xak Gaiden, and Valkyrie no Densetsu (sorry, no link) come to mine. Mind you, I doubt any will be nearly as fast-paced (or good) as this. Twinkle Tale is close though.btw: I like this genre, any recommendations?
You do know Kiki Kaikai 2 is coming out on the PS2 this month, right?

I also played with the blue power up.GaijinPunch wrote:Do you prefer the blue ones over the red?
Are there speedruns or 1CCs of this game on YouTube?
If not someone could encode shoe-sama's recording. And upload it there. Well, I am too lazy. But maybe someone here likes playing with codecs and stuff.
I am downloading the movie now, wanna see how you did certain parts in the lab and the boss before the final boss.
EDIT:
Got desync in stage 2.
Found these on YouTube:GaijinPunch wrote:A Japanese player posted a 1CC of Hard mode not long ago. I can try to dig up the link if anyone wants to see.
Kiki Kai Kai Speedrun
Just watched stage 6 and it seemed pretty insane. He was doing the same trick I did hiding behind the the pre last boss, but he evaded his shield attack which hit me every time there.
