I'm thinking of buying a PS2 or PS3 from Japan. But I'm wondering about the compatibility with European TVs "PAL" format (I'm French), since the Japanese consoles are supposed to be NTSC-J.
Are they incompatible with all French TVs ? Do I need some kind of adapter ?
I've heard there was an issue with the voltage too. Do I need a voltage adapter as well ?
Is it confirmed that the Japanese PS3 plays games from everywhere in the world but respects regionalization for PS2 games ?
Can't wait to get my hands on all those PS2 cave games >.<

a japanese unit will play japanese PS1/2 games only, all PS3 games have been region free so far.
there is a voltage difference... the pal issue depends if your watching it on a low def tv...

Damn Tim, you know there are quite a few Americans out there who still lives in tents due to this shitty economy, and you're dropping loads on a single game which only last 20 min. Do you think it's fair? How much did you spend this time?
