this is one of the biggest problems in the game... i want to keep my fav weapon, but every 10sec a new one comes along (and u can't avoid it every time.....)
did u try to kill every option of the mid boss?? then this guy get's angry

Dying on a boss in Pink Sweets is like dying and losing your power-ups in Truxton. Major pain in the ass uphill battle. The bosses in Pink Sweets shoot too many "instant death" lasers as well.twe wrote: Dying on a boss is a HUGE pain in the ass as you're often left with a pee-shooter for the rest of the fight while the rank stays the same. You're forced to bomb a lot on the boss to get through the fight and this in turn skyrockets the rank even higher. That's the main thing that pisses me off about this game.
Makes perfect sense to me. That's exactly how I felt for the first few weeks (mind you, I was only playing 3-4 credits a week back then).twe wrote:I played a bit some more today and I think I'm slowly warming up to it. This game is really weird as the more I play it the more I seem to like it, and I actually look forward to playing it a lot when I'm not playing it even though when I'm playing it I'm not totally sure how much I like it. Does that make any sense??
on a sidenote, i like how he draws manga with his keyboard, coolNTSC-J wrote:Footage here of the famed Galford tearing up stage 3 in harder mode. He manages to find 4 1-ups along the way as well as maintain his chain.
I got an extend from the mid-level boss after destroying all (or all but one) of those pods that shoot the blue laser columns.zlk wrote:With the extra man the boss sometimes gives, that makes five possible extra men available in level 3. Outside of making the two tanks collide, does anyone know exactly what triggers the other extra men on that level?
That guy is hardcore, he has a Normal mode score of 19.8 mil with Shasta, pretty sure that's the WR with her. From his blog, it sounds like he's trying to beat the 20mil lace score. Not to mention his 12mil ALL in Harder mode with Shasta. Great Stage 3 vid too, hope he releases more or is commissioned to do the superplay DVD!NTSC-J wrote:Footage here of the famed Galford tearing up stage 3 in harder mode. That's Galford for you. For someone that "doesn't have much skill", he still holds the world record for Tavia in Gunbird 2 with a no miss, no bomb run. He's a savage.TWE wrote:That guy is hardcore, he has a Normal mode score of 19.8 mil with Shasta, pretty sure that's the WR with her. He writes some funny things in that blog, such as "People ask me why I keep playing such a shitty game. Personally, because I think the game is fun, it's fine for me to keep playing it".
And my fave is "there are three things that keep me from improving my scores faster: 1)I don't have much skill, 2)the arcade with this game is far, and 3)I can only play on the weekends."
Crazy.
I can't believe none of this is discussed on those japanese forums (2ch?). To me it seems there are requirements for killing mid-bosses a particular way, and then reaching some limit for shooting down flying enemy (and even shooting certain enemy bullets) to get the extends. I wish I had more time to play this.BulletMagnet wrote:Okay, that tears it, someone has to figure out exactly how this freakin' game works already, its inner workings sound weirder every time I hear about it.zlk wrote:With the extra man the boss sometimes gives, that makes five possible extra men available in level 3.
More like, I died a stupid death and I know I could do much better, so one more try!Brian wrote:This comment won't add anything to the discussion. But, I love Pink Sweets. I have had it for a few weeks now and find myself sucked in right away. It has that one more go mentality to it.
