if not this one, then the next.. probably april.

April is no good either. I finish school around the last week of May. Oh well. Maybe I'll catch one in the summer. The only CAVE PCB I've played is Espgaluda. I'm dying to play some others. It'd be cool to meet other players in the area too. I heard that Chinatown Fair has some Shmups but last time i was there they had nothing good. Bah.

doesn't look like the count off the board here is going to be too high, i've got plenty of local friends coming out but not many of you guys!

if there is a suggestion for a better timed shmupmeet, please mention it and we can get a time which works best for you all.

Hey just wanted to pop in here for a second. I can't attend this meet b/c I live in Pittsburgh right now, but I am moving to N. Jersey in June. I hope to meet up with some of you for future shmupmeets. As long as you don't mind a relative n00b to the scene. Cheers! :P

Heh heh, sounds like a repeat of "General video game gathering that BM happened to show up at." ;) That's fine though, I had fun last time, and shall again, no matter who else shows up. :) How's DDP2, btw, have you tried it out yet?

well without the real hardcore shmup crowd it just becomes that. =p

ddp2 isnt a cave game, that's what i gotta say.

i've got some other boards that i've acquired, non cave, shmup action. i'm not telling what they are till after the shmupmeet. you lazy punks are just going to have to show up to see what they are.

so there.

btw, oxtsu is highscoring esp2 and knocking your score around. so we'll have that to try and usurp on the 24th.

I tend to think that, if anything, my presence makes the whole thing even less hardcore.

Yeah right, by the time he's done with it Tateha will laugh at Ageha if I choose him on the select screen, and vice-versa: "Good luck even catching a fading glimpse of the high-score table, chump!"

-hahah- Playing with Asagi here. I left slots open on Ageha and Tateha, don't fret (you're old scores are still on here too). Give it a shot!

I can send an extra game or two in time for this upcoming meet. Just ask bay for the list of what I have or email me [edit: removed due to spammers]. Most of it is posted on page2 of the collections thread.

Sanwa FLASH1 (optical stick, no longer produced) and Guwange are going for sure.

As nice as that is of you, somehow it's not nearly as comforting as it probably ought to be.

Cool, you have Nostradamus, one of my "hidden gem" favorites. :) In any event I've tried most all of the stuff on your list, so whatever you send, if anything, is cool. Well, everything except Air Gallet. :P

Nostradamus says you will soon be playing Nostradamus for real.

He also says bay is going to change it out faster than a $2 bill.

What's this...an arcade PCB "fastest" guns drawing type of contest to see who can actually change such Jamma PCBs the fastest type of contest? ^_~

yes shmuppers, we're going to have a rare/interesting board present just in time for the 24th, it's not an oxtsu special (nostradamus/guwange) but it's sure to goto oxtsu immeditately after the meet. *doo bee doo be doooooooo*

more information as it develops and the board arrives in my grubby little hands :D

i'd say roll in noon or before so we can get some shmupping in before the gaming (non-shumppers) crew shows up. i've yet to play garegga (i know.. ive sinned) so bring it on by.

my replacement chassis for the astro should come by tomorrow, so i'll be working on getting that cab up thurs/fri. lets hope that works out smooth, i want both cabs to be running.

130 we should be gathering to goto jeffs, 200 at jeffs w/ food (pizza + the like), roll outta jeffs around 400 or so, game till 600ish, 630 dinner time, 830 back to my place, game into the night. (we ended around 1230 last time)

If only I was arcade-savvy enough to have any idea what that photo hinted at, heh heh. Guess I'll find out tomorrow. :)

See you then, PM me if there's anything else you want me to bring or whatever: I'll probably show up a little early like last time, and help you get set up and whatnot.

Nostradamus was dead wrong.

So BulletMagnet was the only forum member who showed?

yup, BulletMagnet is a good sport. I hope to have a forum member turnout for the next meet & make it a shmup only crowd.

I didn't make it down to fetch the package you sent, I'll get that soon. I'm curious about Nostradamus! :) Quirky shooters ftw.

My apartment is somewhat clean again, which is great. Every shmeet gives me a chance to clean up for the company. I need more stools however, but we somewhat managed for sitting space on the NES + Saturn.

Around 170 mil, IIRC. ;) Though again, I swear that the more I played that game, the worse I got at it.

Thanks again to bay for hosting the shmup/gaming meet, always a pleasure. As I mentioned before, I'm done (and I mean DONE done, thank goodness) with college in early/mid May, I don't have the exact date here though...though in all honesty, if I have enough notice about a particular day I can probably make it.

Thanks once again to bay, I definitely recommend that some other local shmuppers make the effort to stop by for the next one. :)
