I finally bought a cart coverter to play Mega Drive games on my Genesis...I've successfully bidded and purchased Curse, but the same guy has Dangerous Seed for Mega Drive.
I know nothing about this game except for screen shots (Googled).
Can someone tell me if its worth buying? It looks very interesting.

How come you bought a converter? A Game Genie works just as well, and it'll allow you to play locked out games like Thunder Force IV, Pulseman and Alien Soldier. Plus, it's a lot cheaper than your average MegaDrive/Genesis converter.ROBOTRON wrote:I finally bought a cart coverter to play Mega Drive games on my Genesis...I've successfully bidded and purchased Curse, but the same guy has Dangerous Seed for Mega Drive.

As for Dangerous Seed, it's not bad. It's a pretty basic shmup with backgrounds that don't change a that much, but it's not as bad as stuff like The Earth Defend or XDR. If the game's complete (box, manual and cart) and in good shape, you'll get your twenty bucks out of it. Just don't expect Eliminate Down or Steel Empire in terms of gameplay or visuals/music.
But if you can, try an "Internet" copy first and see if it strikes your fancy at all.

Re: Dangerous Seed (Mega Drive)
It's still a pain to enter GG codes every time you want to play a locked-out game. If the GG was able to store codes like later cheat carts, it'd be a more convenient solution. Of course, the best solution is to just modify a Genny with a territory switch and an expanded cartridge slot. Heck, the systems are cheap enough that it makes for a good starter soldering project. The Coop wrote:How come you bought a converter? Thanks for your input. Had I known a gamegenie woulld work that well, I would've bought that instead.
My last Genesis died. I found another clean 1 gen system @ a resale shop for peanuts. My last genny I melted the cartridge slot with a hot knife so any size game would fit...however, with this nice clean, original Genesis...I'm not going to do that. Solution...ebay. I looked up Genesis converter and found 1. Bought it.

Well, since you just posted your collection ROBOTRON, my two cents are that you can ebay some quality shmups for less than $20 and that you won't regret them:
Gynoug / Wings of Wor (example auction 170083584986)
Super Fantasy Zone
Fire Shark / Same!Same!Same! (150093652249)
definitely a lot genesis shmups around cheaper and better than Dangerous Seed.
