What makes you you so sure of a home port? I'd be thrilled if it did get a home port, but I don't want to get me hopes up for nothing.
This is a hi-res, polygonal, horizontal KONAMI shmup. The chances of a port are extremely high (I wouldn't be surprised if they already started working on it). Could be X360, PS3, Wii, or even PS2. Who knows.

Also, this is not a 2D, low-res, vertical, non-polygonal Cave game. Those have close to zero chance to be ported these days.
For TWE,

I'd have agree with you on this -- a possible Konami shmup port for any of the latest consoles or perhaps the ol' PS2..... ^_~

Best news in a long time. I can't wait for this game. I hope it comes out on either PS2 or... PS3. Why? Because PS3 is the only next-gen console that apparently lacks regional lockout.

BTW, those namakoteam vids are shot from a widescreen monitor, and it's obviously a 4:3 game - look at the youtube video and the stretching of what's supposed to be a sphere.
bVork it up!

Yep, it's a Gradius spinoff alright, right down to the out-of-nowhere memorizer attacks. Though it looks like there's more going on there system-wise than in most games of that ilk...guess we'll hafta wait and see what those are.

Various photos of the game.
One of them in the right side has some Gradius II influence. ;)
Need to go change my pants now.

Keep them coming guys. The Parodii is a big favourite of mine, and this looks to be another great installment.

Thanks for the reply, that makes more sense now. Still too bad about the last several Cave games not getting ported

I'm wild guessing it's G.Rev's new project.

Looking at this pic we can see "Produced by Takashi Hamano" along the title flyer. It's the guy who worked on the original beatmania in 1997. I don't know any other games he worked on.

2D games=non-polygonal, or am i missing something?

on-topic, I love the look of this game. but it just looks too damn easy, and usually the final releases are easier than the ones they take to shows and lokes

Well games like Ikaruga, while having polygonal graphics, are still 2D in their gameplay. That's what I was referring to.

Would kind of surprise me after Maruyama's disparaging comments about gimmicky use of touchscreen.s

Looks awesome. :)

I also love the parodii games and this one looks really nice so far. Though I would have prefered if they had put in similiar character choices like in the prior Parudius games (toy Vic Viper, Twinbee, Girl riding on a bullet, Koitsu/Doitsu,...). But anyway this one looks awesome and I am really glad a new Parodius game came out of nowhere.
2007 the year of parodii shmups.

Seeing the way the touch-screen works in those clearer AVIs posted above, I would say this is a prime candidate for Wii and Wiimote.

By the sheer will of the censors.

You can get a better look at the Otomedius cabs.

There's even a couple of Muchi-Muchi Pork ones.
Thanks for the link, Kiken! :D Why are there no sites in English with any AOU 2007 coverage? :?

Does anyone know what arcade hardware this is running on? Sorry if it was mentioned already, I just scanned the thread and didn't see.

Wow, this is looking excellent! And a hori too. It better had penguins in it though! ;)

Anyway, great to see Konami bringing a shmup franchise to the Arcades again, especially after Gradius V being home only.
That said I am surely craving to see this on a home platform (any). :)

Probably. After all, I hear that Japanese schoolgirls keep their loose socks held up with glue.
