This game is great, but two things about it are horrible: the graphics and my scores.
Original:
Davey - 11,497,770 - 4 - Hope
I've always been too lazy and stubborn to watch replays, but I might for this game, as I don't see where everybody's points are coming from (I played Heaven once and got only 24 million...)

1) Remain bonus at end of game. 2M/life with guard on, 2.5M w/o.
2) Stage 3 1up. Only appears after activating all 10 item chutes. Slowshot the ground at the end of the stage (but before boss).
3) Item chutes. Activate them ASAP. Memorize their locations. Stuff like that.
4) Pointblanking. Item value decreases as they travel farther, so try to stay as high up on the screen as possible.
5) Guarding bad. There's a penalty of 1/3 collected items for guarding. Bombing is always better than guarding.
6) Bullet cancelling. Time enemy explosions to convert maximum amount of bullets. Other scoring factors tend to take precedence though.

I can confirm that there is a true last boss in Hell and I can confirm that he is a true asshole as well.
Guess I might as well stop trying to beat Hell and just go for a high score.
The game lets you practice the true last boss, so I made a replay if anyone is curious to check him out. I'm not sure if the replay will work if you haven't unlocked him or not, but I guess we'll find out.

MrMonkeyMan - 29,544,380 - 5 - Peace
I just wanted to break 30 million. Well, you get to see some of the true last boss in this run at least.

Hell
shoe-sama - 17,497,950 - 4 - Peace - Replay
Really thought I was gonna make it into stage 5 on this run, but I botched up stage 3 and 4. The first 3 boss battles went pretty well though.
edit: I figured I'd stick a replay in even though I suck and nobody really cares.

Oh. My. God.
Although I saw "75 FPS" in the bottom corner of my screen, I never put two and two together and realized that this game's speed is dependent on your monitor's refresh rate.
Did everybody else know this? Am I just a moron? It makes a tremendous impact on the game... 60 FPS feels like slow motion.
I only noticed this because I tried out Eden's Edge for the first time today, and the first level seemed a bit fast for being a first level. I thought "no way, it can't be tied to the refresh rate..."

Finally reached stage 5
shoe-sama - 19,695,710 - 5 - Peace
First midboss got me.
Just have to deal with my problem areas now (wtf stages 3 and 4), and maybe I can get farther.
And woah there's different frame rates!?
lolwtf
Oh and there's an easy way to deal with Stage 3 Hell 2nd lifebar wave 1. It's aimed, so move back and forth.

Yeah it kinda breaks the score board (unless, by huge coincidence, we've all been playing at the same rate). We'd either have to set a standard refresh rate for scores or break them out by different rates. Not that I really care, as I've mostly just been playing Parsec47 lately anyway.
I'm not a game programmer, but really, isn't this just lazy coding? It's odd that they'd take the time to create an entire game but not fix that one essential detail. Maybe it's just an oversight...

I totally agree. It seemed really odd that people were getting so far on their first run, while I could barely make it to stage3 boss after so many attempts (yes, even taking my shooting ineptness into account, it was still bizzare).Davey wrote: Although the game isn't as fun now... it feels so slow after playing at 75 FPS all this time.
I tried running this at 60Hz and it's just nowhere near as good as the 85Hz I was playing at before.
Can we have a separate board for 85Hz please? No? Alright...
