Question: Is it worth bringing my DS/PSP? Or do real men not play handhelds? :(

/quote]

Handhelds are loved by all real men, especially the DS. Not too long ago I joined some chaps from rllmukforum for an evening in local pub to play Bomberman on the DS, which was awesome. If anybody here is unafraid of looking like a total geek we could do the same, for some quality handheld carnage. Bomberman puts hairs on your chest.

The PSP is gay and playing on one causes massive loss of street cred and manliness, but we could try that too if you can think of any games worth playing on it.

Bomberman on DS is one of the worst bomberman games i have played (i have played most versions) the amount of nonsense items available but lack of serious items takes away alot of the skill elements to the game, and dont get me started on the 2 screen malarkey.

Snes bomberman 2 is the best one, and saturn bomberman is overrated.

i personally favour DS over psp but with psp's emulation capabilities its the machine i play the most. even though its not for psp games.

lol

OK I will bring my DS, I can even get my hands on another copy of Bomberman if it will help. I agree with Masamune, Bomberman DS is not that great but I'd argue it's still certainly alot of fun in multiplayer, if just for a short while. I'd nominate Advance Wars but that can go on for ages...Portrait of Ruin for Vampire slaying speed runs? New Super Mario Bros?

PSP is pretty damn gay and there's nowt to play on it....except Everybody's Golf : The Greatest Golf Game of Ever. Official. I'd sell my PSP tomorrow if it wasn't for this gaming equivilent of crack cocaine.

Sorry didn't mean to de-rail the thread. I'm clearly going to watch Plasmo destroy Ketsui, but I thought as there will be loads of gamers there...

I've already PMed KRGFN, but I got no answer at the moment (I still hope to receive one though).

So, if someone wants to join us for 3 days just let me now ASAP!

This is getting interesting. I don't listen to much dnb any more as the genre started going nowhere fast about 10 years ago, but I'd still be up for this. A strip club would be better though..... Sitting in a strip club and ignoring all the hot babes in favour of crushing a bunch of geeks at Bomberman DS would be a true moment to remember :) Also it would guarantee awesomeness for Dr_Ian's video.

I too agree Bomberman DS isn't as good as the best snes and pce versions, but it's much easier to get people together to play it on a DS, and if you choose the right stages it's almost as good as the better versions, also it supports DL play so only one card is required.

haha, go for a private dance and ask if she wants a game :)

As for the dnb, it all depends on whos playing. Theres a lot of good stuff at the moment, it was looking a little dodgy for a while a few years back.

I'll bring my DS, too. I just hope they let me take it with me on the plane. (I'll only be travelling with carry-on luggage.)

Bring your Mario Kart carts! It's a much better game than Bomberman DS and tons of fun in multiplayer.

(I also got a PSP, but I only ever use it to get rid of the hair on my chest quickly, in case some girl is more into the less manly type of man.)

@Plasmo: I'll go all the way to London just to NOT see you doing something impressive with Batrider?

HS: great, Kati-sama will bring her DS with Mario Kart too, and I think rjpageuk is kind of a universal champion of the game
And given that we are in the same hotel... ;)

I don't think Mario Kart DS is anywhere near as good as Bomberman, in fact I think the battle mode is a bit rubbish, though the racing is ok I suppose.

I've just booked a room at the Langland Hotel which is about 300 yards from the Casino and looks quite nice, also it has free Wi-Fi. Barryhouse is about 20% cheaper but I was slightly put off by the description of their single rooms - "shower and toilet just outside the door" Do they mean the back door of the hotel? I have visions in my head of slipping outside into the cold night air to crap in the back garden of Barryhouse, and it doesn't sound like my kind of place.

Unfortunately I can´t make it that weekend since we having some stuff planned with the family already (which I unfortunately can´t cancel). :(

Sure looks like it´s gonna be an awesome meet though and I am certain you´ll have a great time (would love to see some pics afterwards...).

If another meet is scheduled this fall or around the same time next year, I´ll promise to be there though if it´s planned well ahead. :)

Btw, sorry for the late reply (no internet for months here :().

I guessed you were a bit depressed, but still, you're on an Exclusive Caribbean Island. That can't be too bad..

I'd like to come but i'm working that weekend. Anyone about around the 27th? I'm only 50 miles North of London so no problem getting there.

Also, i'd probably only come for the one evening or day so let us know where youll be etc. I'd rather just PM someone my mobile number and they can text/call me the meeting point on the allocated day.

Keep me posted

Why did I think of the fast show there.... "This year, I shall be mostly wearing... "

Just confirming I'll be there. I'll know what to look out for now haha. Unless thats a new craze in london and everyones wearing them

A mate of mine has been wearing one of those everyday(same one) since the first day I met him about 5 years ago.

Moving Target - Yes, Piccadilly to Casino can be walked if you know the area. If not, you need to get on the Northern line from Leicester Square stn and go 2 stops to Goodge St.

& Yes, that WAS an intentional fast show quip  .

you can walk-it, which can take about 20-25 minutes.....
you can bus-it (not too sure what number bus), which can take about the same time as walking-it (central londons traffics abit manic! but not as manic as cave!!!).....
but i recommend tube-it, from piccadilly circus take the piccadilly line to leicester square (one stop) than change to northern line (any north bound) to goodge street (two stops), once your out the station its four shops on your right.....
