Progear has been moved? Cool, I'll get some practice in before the meet! Has the DDP bomb button been fixed? Was thinking of popping in tomorrow for a quick go.

The days of the meet are rapidly approaching. In the next few days I'll open a subforum at namakoHQ for people to put down contact details like phone numbers and such for meet attendees to keep in contact with each other. The subforum will be hidden to unregistered users, so to view it and use it you'll have to sign up to the forum - wouldn't want weirdoes and spammers getting a hold of your details, right? ^_-

Details to follow soon.
DEL, nice poster. ^_-
I'll have one of my own designs for you in the next few days.

Icarus - Sure! I bet you can do an improved poster. Just PM it and I'll put it up.

Question: If one or the other...which would you prefer I install tonight (or sunday) - KETSUI or BATRIDER :?:

Quick answer please...

(I'm out of decent cabs, there's 1 left with a reasonable screen).

Another bad news, Sven :(

Anyway, IMPORTANT NEWS: there is a bed available for two nights with fontaz (friday night) and fontaz+rjpageuk (saturday night). Unfortunately hinatafan had some problems and can't make it to the meet :(
I've already PMed KRGFN, but I got no answer at the moment (I still hope to receive one though).

So, if someone wants to join us for 3 days just let me now ASAP!

Errrr... what? I'm talking about forum spammers, not a fanclub.
Wouldn't want them getting your email address or phone number and flooding you with endless "buy this" and "buy that" junk notes, hence the security.

Yeah well, that risk will always be there whenever we connect to the net, regardless of all the security measures we already have in place today. i was generalizing(if there is such a word), but never the less i know what you mean.

I could do something like a bit of a documentary on shmups and some of the players. I mean I could do it with footage from the web anyway but it looks a lot more realistic with people playing the games. There could even be stupid questions like "omg how many hours did you play that for?" and "what's better, Dodonpachi or WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2007?". Then I could edit it in to 5 minutes of rubbish and upload it on to youtube for up to 46 people to watch.
Or I dunno, that idea kinda sounds a bit rubbish.

I'd watch it, even if it takes 2 hours to download on my dialup!

I might get the friday and monday off for the weekend, I might come down. Depends on how much a stay at the hotel would be...

Nothing serious (deeply stupid I'd say!), but a good and funny summary of the meeting and the people involved. Definitely something I'd really like to watch at home after the meet

Over the years it's been proven beyond any doubt that games players make really boring subjects for TV and Video, anybody who's ever seen footage of Julian Rignall will understand this - it's better to let the games do the talking. Still, it's an interesting idea even if it is doomed to certain failure. You could edit it so every time Mills appears on screen his email address, phone number and credit card details are shown :)

Is there any any plans for what times the meet will be happening on the Saturday?

I'm asking this as I may be a bit late coming on the Saturday and I may be leaving at the night too, so I'd like to know when it might be ending too. Will be happy to show some shooter skills though ^_^

Well i wouldnt know, but i guess everyone will turn up when the arcade is busy with all the main dedicated shumpers & beat-em-up gamers usually after 6pm when everyone has arrived from work. Del is the main shumper and possibly coordinater of this 2-3 day event.

To answer The Manchester Mangla, the times of the Meet will be roughly 6pm onwards on Friday night and all day Saturday (probably a Noon start) til late. Friday location is Casino arcade next to Goodge St station on Tottenham Court Rd. Saturday locations will start at Casino arcade and move on to the Trocadero direction for lunch, dinner. No doubt we will fit in LUNardei's Hard Rock Cafe and other nightspots too.
Casino arcade will be very packed on the friday night, due to it being local 'Fighter Night', so expect to be squashed. Saturday will be an easier ride.

Casino arcade is now ready. I did the final touches with Bob last night. A new A button fitted to the Ketsui cab, cleaned screen and volume waaay up.

Progear and Giga Wing are in perfect display large sit-down cabs. Ketsui has near perfect display now - joystick not great but decent enough for a 2-3. Dodonpachi C fixed. Mush looks and plays fine. Other titles in are; Night Raid, Raiden Fighters I and Strikers 1945 Plus.
Haven't checked the Troc in a couple of weeks, but it should be ok.

Big CHI has flown off to be a BellBoy in St Kitts - Nice work if you can get it  . So he won't make it.

QFT.

This is exactly what I'll be doing. Although the news that DEL has got Progear installed on a sit down cab makes me think I should practice my 1st loop clear just so I don't look too shoddy after being totally owned at Ketsui/DDP (and all the figthing games).

Question: Is it worth bringing my DS/PSP? Or do real men not play handhelds? :(

I'm gonna get there on the Saturday for about 1-2pm.
