Only once, but never again. Their prices are sky-high and their terms are hella-anal. Use www.shoppingmalljapan.com instead. There may be a few others, but SMJ are definitely much more reasonable and adaptable than Rinkya.

I bought a 30,000 yen ($~300 US) item through Rinkya, and paid... $66 US fees to get it to their warehouse. A similar costing item through SMJ would have set me back $35 to $40. And it isn't only the expensive items you save on there, their base fees for cheap items are way more reasonable. With Rinkya you pay through the nose for even the cheapest items, which hardly makes it worth it.

Whoever you choose, make sure you read through their terms carefully.

I've used Rinkya many times, I have no complaints although yes, it's not a good idea for cheaper items as mentioned above. Note: it is ALWAYS best to buy locally (or from Europe if that's where you live) instead of using a proxy buying service - I do only use them when I absolutely cannot find an item more locally.

i figured it was due to the new >5000Y restrictions that something occured and this middleman acted for me?!

wow this threads back from the dead, I'm not sure what rinkyarules means, I would assume it is their username they use when bidding on items for you, check their site!

btw, SMJ = two thumbs up.

www.aazumatrading.com formerly MailOrderJapan is what I tend to use. Across the board similar terms and fees as most other services and I've never had any issues to date.

Rinkya has many different user names. rinkyarules and rinkyatokyo seem to be the two current ones.
