Which of these shmups are easiest to 1-CC?
Over the past few weeks, I've accumulated quite a few shmups. Now that I have a ton of time over the weekend, I plan on actually playing them. The ones I have played I put comments by. I haven't played the ones with nothing by them. Here's what I have:
Gradius V (I appreciate it, but I'm not that into it)
Castle Shikigami 2 (love it)
Psyvariar 2: Ultimate Final (love it)
ESPGaluda
Layer Section (love it)
Donpachi
Dodonpachi
Battle Garegga
Batsugun (awesome)
Soukyugerentai
Twinbee Deluxe Pack (really don't like it, honestly)
Silpheed: The Lost Planet (eh...its ok)
Giga Wing (so hard, seems impossible to weed through the sea of crap going on in the game)
Chaos Field
R-Type Final (hard, not really into horis)
So, I'm looking to build up my confidence a bit and really put a lot of hours into one of these. So, which is not too ridiculously difficult to 1-CC?

Really nice. You do realize that spending time 1cc-ing shmups is for young boys? I'm glad that doing so makes you feel superior to little girls.Plasmo wrote:there are a lot of really easy ones in your list but espgaluda wins the prize for being the girliest shmup ever made

Not this thread again.
Play Giga Wing. You're supposed to use the shield for (most all) larger attacks.

Probably no satisfying awnser, but that's the obvious question for me.
Why don't you simply play the game which is the most fun to you?
If you aren't very experienced with shmups, you probably won't 1cc any of these so soon. Shooting games are pretty difficult in general, but don't let this discourage you. It's not about "beating" the game, like in most other genres, it's more about making progress every time you play. May it be for highscores or survival.
So on your topic:
I think if you like manic ones, I'd say Giga Wing and ESP Galuda are good choices to get you into these kind of games. I think the scoring mechanics and survival tactics are pretty intuitive in these two, so you'll get used to them pretty soon.
Don't focus on 1CCing your shmups, you may eventually 1CC some after practising. But do not force yourself to desperately for "a 1CC", I (and I think many here agree with me there) do not think that this is what a shooting game is about.
