Senko no Ronde goes gold

Post by Frogacuda »

Senko no Ronde is finished, going gold. Don't know when it'll hit the arcades, but it can't be long now. Here's hoping news of a DC port isn't long away.

Kiken explained it to me a few months back, but since then I've forgotten what he's told me and I'll just assume it's Virtua On, cept in space and more pretty.

I imagined it would be more like Psychic Force 2012 or something...

This game will be an essential purchase when it hits the DC.

G.Rev = among the gods of hardcore game development

Wonderful soundtrack too...

Still wish there was a version for Xbox Live though. Here's hoping the single-player A.I. in Senko no Ronde is fun and challenging. In any case, I have a feeling this will be the ultimate party game for shmupmeets.

Seems alot more fast paced than Virtual On, heaviy reliance on bullet patterns and some awesome supers that tranform your fighter into a full-on shooter boss.

Here's hoping for a DC version, I know it's rumored but even the date sim market has dried up on DC. *-neo

Theres not really any point me releasing any DC related news in the future is there, When I do it simply goes ignored or labeled as "rumours".

If you want worship and attention, you're in the wrong place. Of course, if you have interesting insights, they will be welcomed by interested people (in this case, me). There are different people with different interests and attitudes, pretending that everyone will troll on your posts is offensive, very offensive for the ones who don't. We're not Borgs, but persons: please avoid such generalizations and victimism, thanks.

Heya Kron, don't feel like folks are deliberately ignoring you, maybe they just didn't see the post you made when you announced you got confirmation from the developers. (You posted it on the old shmups forum or on click stick, wasn't it? The boards are large and not everyone reads every post)

That's right folks, a DC version of Senko no Ronde is definitely coming. Life is good 8)

Nope, not yet. I think Play-Asia was the first to announce pre-orders for Trizeal, so I'd be checking there through the next few months.

First the game has to be released at the arcades. Let them make money with it. DC release would be at the end of the year, ins't it, Kron?

well, considering the last few Naomi games have had DC ports, and even one of them being a pretty weak game, I'd say it's a safe bet.

Saying a person wants worship and attention is offensive, All Im trying to do is spread some news to likeminded people. Unfortunately with the nature of the internet there is little point for me to carry on doing this.

^ your efforts in spreading news (which in the past always proved to be true!) IS appreciated Kron!

Randorama just pointed out that this is not a reason to expect to be put on a pedestal this forum (but hey...I have a secret chamber worshipping the God of Kron if that helps ;) :8)). There'll always be people doubting news untill it's published on some sort of OFFICIAL website (like from the makers themselves).

Please don't be dettered by all this as I, and I am sure lot's of others have lots of trust in your word. In fact only since you gave your word for it I believe that SNR is actualy getting a DC port.

Any info you can provide us on that other DC game for this year yet?

Kron, I know that being the bearer of good news is thanks enough, but I thought that I'd say that I appreciate your inside scoops. In a way, it kind of helps to keep the DC undercurrent moving, when you offer to us a spark of hope on the horizon. You're the pulse of the DC commercial heartbeat! I'm certainly glad to have you around. So, thank you.

Definitely looking forward to the shooter although I have a suspicious feeling the fighting will be way oversimplified and less than spectacular as nearly all hybrid fighting games tend to be.

And wow, it's amazing how many Naomi games have already received a port to the DC or PS2.

Actually, for NAOMI to DC shmup ports, I believe it's 1:1. With Senko No Ronde hitting arcades next month (if I remember correctly) and hitting the DC later in the year...

Hang on... I forgot Rajirugi. But I'm assuming that Milestone are doing a DC port, with perhaps a GC port afterward?

no at all. It's top-down, 2D (in gameplay) and heavily shmup-influenced. It's bassically a battle shmup. You input fighting game-stlye joystick motions to unleash shmuppy firing patterns on your opponent, and you build up a super meter that lets you transform into a boss and unleash even crazier patterns. Looks like a blast to me.

it does sound good, the only way i could see myself not liking it is if the most effective strategy was to constantly run in circles around your opponent.

You shouldn't take this personally. Until retailers put up preorders and/or a port is officially announced, we have to consider all news as unverified, lest things get out of hand (like with Japhei's periodic "announcements"). I don't mean to denigrate you or your sources at all, of course, and you certainly have a good track record as far as news of this kind goes.

As for posters not knowing of the news you've brought, that's definitely something that shouldn't be taken personally. The best we can do is to educate other posters/readers about what they don't know, whether it's recent, inside information or something that should be well-known by now.

Senklo no Ronde does look very cool and a DC port would certainly be a considered purchase. and if Rajirugi also gets a home release, i will be one happy person. that game looks awesome.
I have no sig whatsoever.

"I forgot Rajirugi"

Any news about a DC port of this game yet? I can't WAIT for this one to come out!! :D :D

OT, how is Virtual On Marz? I know there was an earlier Virual On game for the DC.

Senko'll have to be pretty heavy on the shooting side for me, because I am definately not a big fan of vs. fighters.

Marz is sluggish and dull. Not much fun really, basically just an unlock-fest. Even looks worse than Oratorio Tangram for some reason.

Oratorio Tangram for the DC is just awesome. Never played it on twin sticks but it looks great and plays great.

Twin sticks is a cool experience but to me playing with a controller is just tighter. I dunno, I just feel I can react a lot faster if I'm just using the controller as opposed to the good ole sticks.

But yes, Oratorio Tangram is a fucking awesome game.

I'm extremely interested in buying Marz; I was initially going to buy it when it released back in 03, but all the bad reviews and ugly screenshots surprised me.

It's becoming increasingly harder to find, too.
