You can get Parsec47, Noiz2sa, Rrootage, and a few others here. They're all pretty good, some moreso than others.
Blow up self to involve enemies.

My favorites lately are Parsec47 and Radio Zonde.

To toss in another opinion on what you might spend time with...

ABA Games - Parsec47, Noiz2sa, rRootage, etc. - simple games with really complex bullet patterns. Most of them feature endless/randomized modes.

Shanghai Alice - Embodiment of Scarlet Devil, Perfect Cherry Blossom, Imperishable Night - probably the best-looking free/demo shooters. Depending on bomb usage and difficulty level, they pretty well cover the whole difficulty spectrum.

Inudon Empire - Radio Zonde, Hellsinker - Highly complex games with no English documentation. Once you figure out how to play, they're extremely hard. Really good games though.

Cho Ren Sha 68k - a good, solid game, considered a bit on the easy side. I have a hard time with it, thanks to my ever-so-helpful bombs-are-for-the-weak attitude.

radio zonde is great, just be sure to go to the "switch" option menu and put the game on "mortal" instead of "immortal" and then you won't be invincible. also, if you didnt know, you can switch ships by pressing left or right in the first menu.
it took me awhile to figure that out!

It took me forever to figure out how to exit in the middle of a game and how to exit out of replays. You press two of the joystick trigger buttons at the same time, but I think it varies depending on the controller. It's annoying how Esc and Alt-F4 don't work with the game.

It turns out that holding Esc for 5 seconds exits a game or replay. I got that off magnum opus last forum.

Also, I should add stuff about ship selection and replays to the high score thread.

Don't want to make a whole new thread just to ask, so I'll put this here.

In the options menu for Cho Ren Sha 68k, what do these options do?

SCREEN
XSP_MODE
XSP_VERTICAL
START SELECT

?
