Shmups.com

Post by Monk 0 Nuggets »

So, I remember reading talk about making a cave fansite not too long ago, but I was thinking, why hasn't shmups.com been updated in 7 months? I'm sure a ton of people from this forum could contribute!

too busy! besides, most questions people have can easily be answered in the forums, and any news about new games is usually found there as well.

I realize that, but I look at the website and it is so well put together and presented, but it is just going to waste.

Personally, I think that one step coul'd be to insert in the site also the review that are in the forum.

Mods, what do you think?

There's a front page?

This has come up before and I'll dig up the thread in a bit, but the bottom line is that the main site is under sole control of malc, and he's busy with real life or whatever. There's really nothing we could do even if we wanted to.

EDIT: This thread is a little over a year old, but it's got a post from malc himself.

Hmm...

Well, I wonder what the dude is up to now? Hopefully he is doing better. I suppose we'll have to wait it out. I really hope he decides to get back into and put the site back to use. I'm glad I found this place though; there are many friendly, helpful and patient people on here!

In truth, shmups.com hasn't been updated in almost 4 years; the latest review added was "Shienryu Exlosion" in 2003. The only "update" since consisted of changing the link pointing to the forum, no new material has been posted since.

Short of starting a new website, unfortunately there is nothing anyone can do about it because shmups.com is owned by malc who won't let anyone else update it. :( (I did ask him)

That's why a reviews section was added to the forum and why a Xenocide Files update thread was created.

So, is the actual Xenocide file going to be updated with what is on the thread or is the thread going to be the "unofficial" file kind of thing?
