News Flash: Four shmup-based PSP UMDs for sale @ NCSX-WTF!?

Post by PC Engine Fan X! »

Today dated 1/25/2007, our shmup loving friends at National Console Support, Inc., have for sale at reasonable prices, four different PSP based UMDs that are shmup genre based -- here's the link:

http://www.ncsx.com/2007/012207/ncs0122h.htm

Some more PSP shmup love...spread the word around. ^_~

One can finally play the original arcade PCB version port of XEXEX on the PSP courtesy of Konami...hot damn! Who would of thought that to be possible during the 1991 arcade PCB release of the same name in 2007 on such a powerful portable gaming device such as the PSP? Good things come to those who wait... ^_~

NCSX has mentioned that they have over the last ten years traded or sold some 27 different XEXEX PCBs at prices from $300.00 to $800.00 USD! Holy shit...some serious $$$ for such a rare Konami arcade shmup PCB that is XEXEX...lol ^_~

I guess I'll have to break down & buy a second PSP just to play the latest & greatest PSP UMD shmup titles...damn! And no, I ain't gonna upgrade my firmware 1.50 PSP just to enjoy the latest PSP UMD software either. ^_~

you can always upgrade to 3.03 OE-C (the latest custom firmware), that gives you the functionality of FW 1.5 , with the latest improvements of FW 3.03... (meanin, you can still run homebrew while playin the latest PSP titles from your original UMDs).

i did, and am happy with that change.... even tho, i was hessitatin at 1st...

and, whats more... if you dont like to be up there (with FW 3.03 OE-C), you can always go back to 1.5 form the recovery mode (i saw a friend doin it so, and it worked like a charm).

there you go

Code: Select all

http://www.sendspace.com/file/iimfh2
you will need the original FW 1.5 and 3.03, you can download them from PSPUpdates (or remember, google is your friend).

follow the instructions contained in the lil file from sendspace, and in somethin like 5-10 mins, you'll be playin the newest releases for the PSP, while still enjoyin the goods that FW 1.5 has to offer.

remember, b4 tryin to flash your PSP, you must have it connected to a reliable power source...

if you have more questions, just ask.

That Salamander artwork on the PSP version sucks.

Well, I herd from enough people that Gradius Collection had some emulation flaws so these packs might have the same problem.

Sometimes USA front-cover artwork's better than JPN release

For Fighter17,

Video game companies can't please everybody with their front-cover video game artwork...of course, every once in a great while comes a USA game release that's better than the original Japanese game release -- take for instance, the USA PSP release of "Every Extend Extra" has a front cover art design that looks better than it's earlier Japanese counterpart release. ^_~

Emulation flaws with the newly released Konami shmup UMDs (after Gradius Collection UMD release)? We'll have to wait and see what other fellow shmuppers have to say about that... ^_~

Thanks again to Kaspal and D-7 for that very informative info regarding updating a FW 1.50 PSP to 3.03 OE-C version... ^_~

There is already a main discussion thread on this (which I've now renamed to be clearer).
