Steam Boy

Jon and I watched it last night. Pretty amazing. Steampunk with super believeability and wonderful storyline. Share your thoughts, ONLY IF YOU'VE SEEN IT!!! (i.e. no "I haven't seen it yet, but I think it sucks because my mom goes to college.") Thanks.

Tina, come get the ham!

Anyways, I haven't seen it, but I really want to. Seems like my suck ass theatres aren't showing this like they didn't show Akira re-mastered and GITS2: Innocence.

I can rarely give a rat's ass for anime but upon further investigation, I have decided that I really really really really really really want to see this one. Too bad it doesn't seem to be showing in Seattle :(

The most visually impressive anime I have ever seen hands down. The story isn't half bad either although the whole "does science really improve our lives?" theme in anime is starting to wear a little thin for me. Minor nitpicks aside it was a great movie. Can't wait to get it on DVD to watch with subtitles rather than dubbed.

I'd like to see it too, but I still haven't seen Akira-and a friend of mine told me that Akira was what got him started on Anime.

What's that got to do with it? There's no one anime that you HAVE to see before watching anything else.

Hell, I thought Akira was pretty bland.

Same here, though I enjoyed the manga.

^^ Agreed. I couldn't make head or tails of what was going on. I thought, "Critics laured and praised THIS thing?"

Akira was boring as hell, can't say the same about the manga (which I heard took 15 years or something to complete?).

dave skip Akira and just see Steam Boy if you can.
