Hey there SoCal'ers,

That’s right ….It's time for Droid's SoCal Hookup #7!! This may be my last shindig for awhile as Sara and I are awaiting our 2nd child so once the stork pays us another visit, its probably gonna be game over for me for awhile ;P Anyways, I expect this will be my best hookup yet and attendees can look forward to a great session comprised of Neo, Shmup and Classic arcade action, as well as hanging out with friends, new and old. Inviting my pals from ng.com, shmups.com and klov.com.

Date: Saturday January 27th, 2007
Start time: 10am
Endtime: 8pm sharp (may last longer if we're lucky)
Cover: $5 per guest

cover includes drinks, chips, cups, ice, plus all the gaming you can handle. Guests will have to fend for themselves Lunch and dinner, but there is a high probability we will do a group order for pizza or popeyes chicken..

Location: Same bat cave in Huntington Beach just off the 405 fwy @ Beach Blvd. 30 minutes from riverside...45 minutes from LA...1.5 hours from SD...7 hours from NoCal

Is there *any* chance you could change the date for the shmupmeet? There's a norcal shmupmeet I'm going to on the 27th and I would love to go to both (I will only be in norcal that weekend). I really would like to meet some local shmupers since I'm new to the LA area. If you can't change the date I understand, but it never hurts to ask

Sorry Sega, I finally got a lull in my hectic work schedule, plus my wife begins school at the end of the month, so its now or never for me. I'll talk to the wife and see if I can push it to Sunday.

If i still lived in the LA area i would totally go....but its a 14 hour drive from where i live now in the REAL northern California.

Hi Droid,

I was wondering do you still have Espagaulda 2 or Ketsui or Mushihimesama. I will also bring some of my Dojin Shmups, but it needs a good PC with good video card, and CPU at least 1Gigahertz. I will make my Dojin shmup list later today(some of the top of my head Impershiable Night, Tobi Tuskihime, Angeraze 2, Bike Banditz, Gochamaze, ect.). I also wanted to know if you can move it to Sunday 28, 2007 if not thats okay. Oh yeah i'm coming from Burbank. I also forgot your address could you pm it to me,

Ahhh, Tom needs to keep the SolCal spirit going, once he herd that NorCal was having its 7th shmupmeet.

Seriously though, I'm the same way, its been getting rarer that I have a free weekend. I needed to schedule this before things got worse. Hopefully the summer will be more kind.

heheh sorry Dave, didnt intentionally plan to throw it the same day...I wanted to throw it earlier in January, but my work schedule has been abit insane...its finally slowed down + I gotta sneak this in before my wife resumes her school at the end of January and my window of opportunity slams shut. What we really need is a central californian host so we can meet somewhere in the middle and combine our northern and southern forces

I think Saturday will be epic for NoCal and SoCal gamers. I sometimes wish I wasnt tethered down by wife and kid so I could make the road trip up.

I could probably swing by to pick you up. I've got a test in LA that'll probably last till around 2pm, so I wouldn't be able to pick you up till at least 2:30, though.

Hi Droid,

I will bring over Angeraze 2, Gochamaze No Arashi: The Shooting, Impershiable Night, Gundeadlligne, Samidare, i cannot find my Tobi Tsukihime, These are all Dojin Shmups which we can play from PC which are all very good quality might i add, i was thinking do you have a cable where we could see the image on TV. ya may want to hold off on the pc games...my cpu is running like crap lately. It intermittently shuts down by itself

But the cabs work perfect ;P

A few house rules for old and new guests:

Please practice good hygiene and shower before ya come to the hookup. Its gonna be a long gaming session so funky socks,g or other flagrant fouls will not be tolerated. My wife is big on smells and we don't want any lingering reminders after our guests are gone, heh.

Bring extra cash if you expect to partake in our group feeds. In other words, no freeloaders.
