Geometry Wars for Xbox

Post by Thunder Force »

Just picked up this Black Widow / Robotron / Bangai-O / Smash TV clone for Xbox today... after professor ganson mentioned it in the Top 25 thread and reminded me I hadn't bought this yet (thanks professor :D )

For more information on this game go here

It plays very much like the games mentioned above, but has unique features all its own. I particularly like the modern twist on the classic dual-stick control scheme, by implementing full dual analog 360 degree shooting angles.

Anyone else playing this Xbox-exclusive shooter?

I bought Project Gotham Racing 2 upon it's release as i wanted to see how they did the Edinburgh (home city) street tracks (impressed!) and i had no idea about the free Geometry Wars game and it came as a rather pleasent surprise.
It is indeed a great game and i realized this when i spent FAR more time playing this that Project Gotham Racing 2.

Yea, as a huge Robotron fan, I dig this game - a lot. It gets rather hard rather fast though. I would prefer a more gradual level progression but as a free easter egg, I'll take it.

PGR2 is my favorite Xbox street racer and takes it's place next to Ralisport in my collection.

You can probably find PGR2 for $20 or less just about anywhere you look by now, cheaper than that if you can find it used. PGR2 itself isn't a bad game either, probably the best racing you're going to find on the XBox, at least until Forza Motorsport shows up.

Pretty cheap now that it's well over a year old, and besides PGR 2 is a fun game and i can see my flat on one of the tracks!
