By the way, from your description of the Jap Batrider Master, his ship choices were Birthday (Sawblades Bomb) / Chitta (90degreee angle options) and errm...maybe Flying Baron (machine gun bomb - not sure on this one??).
I tried Birthday and Chitta last night, but I don't see their advantages
A bit of footage would be awesome.
Cheers, DEL
Ooh ok, sure. But you've gotta remember that our Casino Arcade set-up is not as snazzy as your Candy Cab Swedish extravaganza!take plenty of pics please!!

Birthday or Tag-T (both have sawblade-style bombs), Bornnam (only Mahou ship with 90deg homing Options), Grasshopper (rapid machinegun bomb). Pretty much identical to what I'm using in Special at the moment.DEL wrote:By the way, from your description of the Jap Batrider Master, his ship choices were Birthday (Sawblades Bomb) / Chitta (90degreee angle options) and errm...maybe Flying Baron (machine gun bomb - not sure on this one??).

It's the ship and stage order I'm most interested in. That and any new tricks not covered by the discussion and highscore threads, and the replays I've released so far. ^_-

Don't know about Laydock, but I'll be there, definitely.DEL wrote:By the way, are Herr Schatten and Super Laydock available for this meet?
I got two days off from work, so I'll arrive in London on thursday, the 22nd. I'll go back on the following sunday. I've already booked my room at the Barry House and both of my flights. I'm paying a total of 1 cent for each flight.

!
That's Great News Herr Schatten! See you there.
Plasmo & Himself - I'll try for Pink Sweets, but I'm not sure if any locals have it

OK! We have officially booked our rooms at the barryhouse. Added with pleasure rjpageuk to our group at the last minute, all went right ^__^
DEL: where is the Casino arcade located? Is it near the Barryhouse?

Another thing: I'm quite interested in the Game On exhibition at the Science Museum, any info?

I guess this is the same exhibition that was in Tilburg (NL) a while ago?LUNardei wrote:Another thing: I'm quite interested in the Game On exhibition at the Science Museum, any info?
If so, it's quite interesting, although it's targeted at people who don't know a thing about video games at all. Gamers like us don't learn anything new.
The exhibition gives a rough outline of what video games are about. It shows the evolution of different genres (for shmups the examples are Gradius, R-Type II and Einhänder) and also has rooms dedicated to other aspects of gaming, like gaming systems (although you can look at the original systems, the games shown are in emulated form).
Some stuff in London is expensive to see (Tower of London, London Eye, Maddam Tussauds, St Pauls Cathedral, Westminster Abbey) but lots of things are free (all museums and art galleries) so there should be plenty of things to do whatever your budget
.
Many thanks for squeezing me in LUN.
That exhibition sounds like fun to me.

Information on how to get to barryshouse from all of the major airports can be found on the barryhouse website:
http://www.barryhouse.co.uk/barryhouse/ ... .htm#luton
I linked you to the details from Luton Airport PLASMO. You will need to either book train tickets to get you from Luton Airport Parkway to Kings Cross Thameslink or it seems you can get a bus from Luton Airport to London.

Guys have you decided the exact date of the Casino meet yet? All I can see from this thread is that the weekend of 23rd to 25th of Feb has been decided?
It'd be great to meet DEL properly this time, after buying Silvergun from him I had to be somewhere else...
Also, rjpageuk will you be coming down with CVM?
And finally are completely untalented shmup players like myself welcome at this meet? I will probably just gawp at everyone elses skills.
Cheers

He visited the TATE modern during London Meet I with Super Laydock.
Just to confirm, the actual playing part of the Meet will be Friday 23rd evening and the whole of Saturday 24th Feb.Guys have you decided the exact date of the Casino meet yet? All I can see from this thread is that the weekend of 23rd to 25th of Feb has been decided?

Yes you should. I guess Friday morning/afternoon until 5.30pm and the whole of sunday should be for sightseeing. If you decide to go to the huge (and FREE) Natural History Museum (Dinosaurs etc) on sunday, I'll join you.I'd also like to have a good amount of generale sightseeing ^_^

That's a decent place, but a bit off the West End track. I have some other Friday/Sat night bars lined up too. Herr Schatten & I went to The Porterhouse (3 floor bar) at the end of London Meet II - It has the ingredientsUhm:
Hard Rock Cafe, 150 Old Park Lane, London W1 Tel: 020 7629 0382
It'd be a pleasure to spend some drinking-time there, if possible

Some cool stuff here! The playing time you said is perfect to me.
- Natural History Museum: that's interesting. Probably exchange the Game on with this is a good choice (dinosaurs!)
- Hard Rock Cafe: Kati-sama is particularly interested in this but no problem, I trust you and Mr. Shadow about bars and similar stuff!
Welcome aboard Kaede

LUN - Seeing as Kati-sama is interested in the Park Lane Hard Rock, we can certainly go there. Just 1 bus ride 5-10mins from the Trocadero, or a tube trip to Green Park Station.

lol true, I remember all you guys from my days lurking on Ika.co.uk...I wonder what CCCShiner is doing now?Plasmo wrote:i heard CVM is too busy with other useless stuff like rl but i really want to meet him again.hes very skilled but unfortunately rather unknown and doesnt post anywhere.
i really miss him.

I am also interested to join the fun. But I can't confirm anything yet.
I and some of my friends could stay for one weekend in London. I'd probably hang out one day (saturday) with you guys. The other day or days I'd go and explore the city with my friends. Well, I have to ask them and also see how much the flight and the stay in the hotel will cost.
Any chance to see one fighter cab at the meet as well. How about Tekken, anyone?

hehe, that's nice. Also looking forward to meet you there, Kaede.Kaede wrote:Edge, Casino usually has a number of fighting games set up. Last time I was there about a month ago they had Tekken 5, SF3.3, KOF '98, Virtua Fighter 4.
Oh, and a couple of SF2 machines to play (Some things never change!).

Have someone summarized all those guys who want to come to this meet?
Seems like quite a bunch will gather there.
