Who will be selling the game inside the EU?
Retailers who are going to take preorders will announce that by themselves.

Nice, and at only slightly more than twice the price Play-Asia is asking ($39.99 = £20.90). Seems you discovered a real bargain there ;)

EDIT: typo corrected

I got a Last Hope flyer today. It came with my other stuff from Play-Asia.

What's odd though, is that the flyer has preorder voucher on the other side that's not useable at Play-Asia. Instead it can be used at Van Basilco.

I wonder if NCSX will have it for preorder. I went thru them for my copy of Under Defeat.

Well, let me start by saying that Last Hope looks and plays like shit.

I mean,I've played homebrew games that are much, much better than Last Hope....and that alone speak volumes.

Trust me on this. DO NOT waste your money on this game.

Great review, BIG. Really insightful. I guess everybody now knows exactly whether or not this game will suit his or her taste. You should become a video game journalist.

What does it play like? What other games would you say are shit? What games would you say are NOT shit?

I know what I like and dislike and need to compare your tastes to my own as "It plays like shit" isn't thorough enough.

I think its fairly obvious that we need to wait until a user or two intrepid enough (and more serious) to order the game on faith to post their detailed impressions. Based on the videos, I don't think the game could be all that bad--provided that you like hori-scrollers with what looks to be an R-Type-like theme.

If a few serious posts come up indicating that its somewhat decent, I might spring for it through NCSX.

Heh,this game suck so hard I don't even know where to begin.

I've played just about every shmup there is,and believe me,I know a good shmup when I see one...and Last Hope isn't one of them.

Last Hope is more like 'Hopeless'.

Go ahead and buy the game, you'll see what I mean.

Maybe you could pick one of the things that bothers you about it, and start from there? Any beginning would be better than no beginning. 8)

I played the Neogeo one for about 10 mins (it was at a gaming meet) it was good fun for the 3 goes I had, its very hard, but not unfair. Appar the DC oe has had some playability fixes.

As to the GFX, it looked really sweet for a neo geo game compared to all of the comercial games that I have played on it (pulstar etc).

Again, I didnt play it enough to say if its great or not, but its got me interested enough to ensure I have pre-ordered the DC one.

Well, I just preordered the Dreamcast port today. I can't wait to try it out. It's supposed to be release sometime in January. Anyone know the exact date?

I just got a mail from Play-Asia that they will be selling the Limited Edition.
They write they are the only one that's selling them and there will be only 500 copy's.

Get it here ;)

Already canceled the regular edition and replaced it with the Limited Edition hours ago.

Play-Asia has already sold out of the limited edition version! I got lucky and snagged a copy only hours before they disappeared. :D

Sure you have. *pats head*

Pre-ordered mine. Was thinking about Trigger Heart as well, but the reviews weren't so crash hot.

Looking forward to getting this, and seeing what else these kids can come up with in the future.

Damnit. I missed out on the LE version by one day. It might've even been a few hours or so, because I went to preorder a copy yesterday around 6:00 or 7:00 pm, and it was already sold out. I'm fine with the normal version. But I hope the soundtrack is released on CD.

By the way, doesn't anybody know what the official release date is? Jesus Christ!

You passed on Trigger Heart in favor of this POS?

Good going,champ.

People might heed your remarks if you chose to describe your issues with the game.

By the way, how about putting spaces after your commas?

Don't be silly. It's far more fun to cast throw-away one-liner statements in a sad attempt to troll/derail a thread than it is to actually post constructive and useful comments that help the community at large.

I mean, who wouldn't believe the one man on earth who's actually played EVERY SINGLE SHMUP THERE IS? Please, in future don't doubt such greatness.

All sarcasm aside, BIG I invite you to do an actual review of the game. If I had a dollar every time someone on a forum offered "advice" that constituted the equivalent of "buy this it rocks" or "don't buy this it sucks", I would be very wealthy. I also would have not bought a great deal of very entertaining games, remembering that taste is and always will be subjective.

If you have genuine comments to pass on about the game, please put them out there with specifics. So far the grand totality of your comments amount to "I don't like it", which honestly doesn't count for much. Plenty of folks here hate games I like.

Long story short: you are invited to post something constructive and detailed. Not another two-liner "I hated it" post, please.

The only difference is that the limited edition contains the soundtrack, right?

How much was the LE at play asia?

Play-Asia was lying, btw. They are NOT the only ones selling the Limited Ediition. The German online shop that is selling Last Hope also has it, for €49,95 (=£33,97).

http://www.vanbasilco.com/shop

They still have some left; I just pre-ordered there.

If you are in Europe I strongly suggest you buy it there to avoid expensive shipping and import tax which you WILL almost certainly have to pay when buying at Pay-Asia.
