TFV difficult

Post by lawnspic »

Did anyone here find this game difficult, alot of people and somes mag reviews said they thought it was on the tough side. I always thought it was a bit on the easy side, because all the enemy paterns were the same. I still kick myself for not entering the WD contest for the PSX USA release. I could almost beat the game with one life. I had this game burned in my brain. I sold my Ps2 so i think i might get out my Saturn and challenge some scores.

I was able to 1CC once in Master setting. Not One-life it though. So once you know the patterns and exploit the hell out of the Free Range over weapon, the game is yours to pwn.

The contest thing was won by another forum member. I recall his story involved sending a pic, then Wrecking Designs have them replay it, and then silence, and then a "you won" letter. It all felt pretty tacky, from what I could tell.
Don't hold grudges. GET EVEN.

As a shmupper of lacking skill, I can get to the end boss on defaults pretty easily, but as of yet haven't managed to beat him, since he takes forever to die and once you've lost the free range weapon he takes even longer, and outlasts me even if I have a huge stock o' lives. Otherwise the game doesn't give me many problems, once you've memorized enough of it anyways.

You need to practice to beat him well it took me 3-4 months to 1CC the game on normal

I had no problem 1CC the game, and your right as soon as that free range is gone on the last boss i would lose 3 lives in succesion on averge, untill i almost beat it on one guy. I just remembered there were a two endings, one for killing the boss the good way. Great game

I've beaten him more than once when I had lost my free range weapon before the fight. As in other situations earlier in the game, it works really well if you use the hunter on the guy. Just concentrate on dodging all his attacks and keep your finger on the trigger. I always had more success using this strategy than with free range.

The end boss theme is really cool, for some reason it reminds me of the Tuxedo Mask theme from Sailor Moon.

Not that i... watched that show or anything. *ahem*

I didn't find the game to be overly difficult. I think the one part that i kept having trouble with was sudden surprise death from above in that verticle shaft somewhere around mid game before you blast off into space. It was more a lack of mental discipline at that point than the game being hard. I would just forget the placement of enemies and for some reason hug the top half of the screen.

I always thought TFV was difficult, then again I never cared enough for it to actually learn it.
definitely harder than III, that's for sure.
