In the GBA Gradius Galaxies intro we see that for some reason Scramble was inexplicably added into the series timeline. This could have been just a mistake on the part of the development team or...
Why do you think Konami made this descision? Do you think it counts in Gradius continuity or is it just kind of a side story? What is the story of that game anyway?

I don't think there will ever be a definitive answer unless a Konami guy actually gives a statement, but the way I interpret it is that it's set in the same world, just a long time before the events of GURADIUSU!
Or, another way to interpret it is it's just Konami's way of remembering the past for its first (?) shmup, who knows.
