Thunder Force 6 for the JPN DC console platform...

This Thunder Force 6 game was supposed to be developed by Technosoft for the Japanese Dreamcast console platform back in 2000 but was cancelled. A short clip of the opening FMV with fully-generated CGI animation was released on the internet a while back... is kick-ass and top-notch animation indeed! Makes you wish that TF-6 was released upon viewing it for the first time..... ^_~
I'm pretty sure that support for DC Ascii/Agetech Arcade Stick controller would've been included for this DC release of TF-6 shmup title. ^_~
A OST Music CD was released in limited numbers in Japan a few years back that was to feature background music on the full-version DC GD-Rom disc of TF-6.
I'm not sure if this DC Thunder Force 6 shmup title was to continue where TF-5 left off or not...would've been interesting to see if it was a true sequel -- continuing from the ending events revealed at the conclusion of TF-5's "good ending" or a wholly different Thunder Force storyline arch altogether -- the world may never know..... ^_~
Technosoft seems to have vanished or disbanded...so TF-6 will never be made unless another developer secures the rights to finish it. ^_~

Thunder Force VI, LOL.
We're more likely to see ThunderFuture finished before an official sequel is announced.

And considering how long Thunder Future's been in development, and how far it has to go yet, that's going to be a long time.Icarus wrote:Thunder Force VI, LOL.

As for the TF VI soundtrack came in two flavors. The first is "Broken Thunder: Noise Image Soundtrack Volume 3", which features just the tunes that would have been in the game, and "Broken Thunder: Project Thunder Force VI" which features all those tunes, plus various remixes of music from the TF series' past.
Regarding Technosoft, from what I recall, they were bought by Twenty-One Company, a pachinko maker in Japan. Not exactly sure why a pachinko maker wanted a video game company, but Technosoft was eventually swallowed up by their R&D division, effectively desolving the shmup maker.

I see that the current crop of the latest Japanese pachinko machines that have those cool high-tech LCD-based screens for the 'fever'-slot mini games...it would take a software developer some time to come up with some custom programming for those "spinning reels" on the latest pachinko machines -- so much fun to play them but reeks to high heaven because of all that damn cigarette smoke in them pachinko parlors!... (Please no offense to smokers here on this forum...I'm not a smoker myself -- that's all.) ^_~
Too bad that cool Star Wars pachinko machine ain't setup for play here in the USA...damn! ^_~

Based on the Syrinx being shown in the trailer as Fire LEO V, I would imagine it would not have been related to TFV, which was essentially a side story.

Wasn't there a minigame in Segagaga that was taken from Thunder Force VI?

It is kind of wierd to think about the series as a whole, with it beginning at 1 and ending at V. It's like all these battles really were being shown to us for a reason leading up to our own species' near destructon. The dangerous legacy of one world ends up drifting across the stars and falling into our incapable hands, ensuring we suffer the same fate as this civilization we have watched and controlled and rooted for throughout thier epic battles. It's a fun thing to contemplate.
