Since you've listed two of the three SNES Parodius games, how about Jikkyou Oshaberi Parodius. Also recommended if you don't have, R-Type III.

Dezaemon is a must-have for your Super Famicom shmup library. Don't forget about it.

Phalanx, Fire Power 2000 and Earth Defense Force are pretty good. While Super Nova and Blazeon weren't bad to me, they may not strike your fancy, so you might want to "try" them first.

And I'll second the nods for R-Type III: The Third Lightning, Space Mega Force and Bio Metal.

There was a game called Firepower 2000 that was on either the SNES or Genesis, and the one on the other console had a different name (Could be Super Aleste on SNES and Fp2k on the Genesis maybe?) I really like that game.

IIRC, Firepower 2000 is the US name of "Super SWIV," which was also released on the Genesis as "Mega SWIV." Super Aleste is the original Japanese name of a different game, "Space Megaforce," only released on the SNES.

Super SWIV! That's it ^_^ Thanks. Yeah, that one I always got a big kick out of, but that was ages ago. I don't know if the game is actually good or not. One of the two versions is also MUCH more difficult, but again, I have no idea which =P
