LUN & Roman Hordes - All you'll need is the Londinium Underground Map at Stanstead Airport or Liverpool St Station and the rest will be available at the Foyer of Barryhouse Hotel.

Assuming that between us in London we have most PCB's (with the exception of Pink Sweets and Mushi 2), what would be the games that the visitors would most like to see installed?

Del: thanks for the tip!
ill6: no problem for me, mushi is enough. I'd like to have Ketsui there as well, but listen the other guys before :D

Both easy to accomodate... Casino has Mushi and there are at least 2 Ketsui boards available (mine is a lot harder that ARC's though - or I am a lot shitter).

ill6 - Your Ketsui Board is exactly the same as ARC's by the way  .

I'm still trying to think how we can solve the vert cab situation...?

The RFJet cab is now ready (as in my pic).
The sit down cab is ready.
The Mush cab works fine, except for the banking, although I will mess around with the autofire circuit again, plus try the V.Fast manual tapping mentioned by twe.

I guess Ketsui and Esp2 will go in the 2 available vert cabs.

The extra game/s could be Batrider and Ibara Black Label, based on what we have to offer at the moment, but its a problem of good vert screens...

Edit:- Or DDP/DDP DOJ can be installed if Bruno comes  :!:

 its a shame we couldnt arrange this london meet at next month ATEI 2007 coin-up show. guess us london shumpers will just have to post some digi-pics of the event.....not that we expect to see many 07 shumps titles there.

Next year
Anyway, BR1 has booked too! Great news. I hope for a Dodonpachi cab ready to go (I already asked him: better DDP than DOJ) :D
Nev is on his way to booking too. Jck will wait a little bit, unfortunately.

How big were the previous London Meets, by the way? The other threads don't tell much. This one is nearing (or over) 20+ interested people so far, which is a fair bit. (God help the restaurant we decide to invade for lunch ^_-)

The only meet I've been to that had more people was one of Malc's, way back when.

LUN - I've been away for the weekend, but I've now PM'd you about Bruno's DDP. - Ok DDP it is (not DOJ). I'll PM ARC but its more likely that ill6 has the DDP board...ill6 - Can you confirm :?:

Icarus - London Meets I and III were 10 people apiece, II was smaller for some reason. This one is guaranteed to be larger. Like I said; "The More the Merrier".

This will be a case of "shmuppers taking over London arcades". Excellent. ^_-
I've already booked my week off, so I'll be down there for definite this time. Fourth time's a charm. ( ̄ー ̄)

By the way, anyone got any Seibu SPI? Cave and Raizing look to be well represented with Dodonpachi and Batrider definites for two of the cabs at least (for demonstrations), and Espgaluda 2 perhaps being considered for a Zesshikai Overmode mini-tournament. We should have at least one more game that won't be well covered by all our collective skills, something like Viper Phase One or RFJ, which should make for a pretty hectic score competition. ^_-

Or if you guys want an ancient and freaking hard hori, I could send DEL my XEXEX... ^_-

Bruno - That's Right! :D

Now, ARC apparently has a DDP board too, so its very good news!
The question now goes out to ARC and ill6:- Which one of you can meet me during the Christmas Holidays between 28th Dec and 7th Jan & hand me the DDP board :?:

I'll deal with it from there.

btw - Its going in Pride of Place into the large sit-down cab, in honour of BR1.

The most interesting thing will be to see if BR1 can handle the difference in in-game speed between the MAME emulation and the actual PCB clock speed. ^_-

During our meets he often plays the game on a PCB, and his only problem is the button setup ;)

Also, could have had a Pink Sweets kit. ;_; There was one on YAJ this morning, and I had my eye on it hoping that the board wouldn't be spotted and the seller would drop his price when relisting (like what happened when I scored my Ibara kit) but someone grabbed it for the buyitnow price of 104,000Y (£450). Back to waiting patiently, then. ;_;
Fujita has brand new kits for 98,000 yen now (they have 5 left), in case you weren't aware. Not sure if that's still too high for you though.

Update:- Two new games in Casino - Chase HQ 2 and Aliens Extermination
Image
Chase HQ 2 has already received a few punches from The Old Mills

Image
This Aliens Extermination machine had me thinking that its based on a new Aliens film, due to the 20th Century Fox logo to the right of the Alien head, but I guess its not. Player = some random Geeza.

Great News LUN!

You guys will enjoy your London vacation for sure :D .
I guess Kati-sama will go off shopping during the arcade sessions. Unfortunately ROM's not around on that weekend, otherwise it would have been good for them to link-up and shop 'til they drop.
----------------------------
By the way, are Herr Schatten and Super Laydock available for this meet?
A big Thanks has to go out to Herr Schatten for the Disco MILLS TEAM Banners :!: :D

I'm afraid I won't be able to help you, Icarus. :(

I play on Neverland's PCB since March '05, so I'm just too used to play both on PCB and MAME that I cannot help you to find out which of them is actually faster. When I play they look to me pretty at the same speed.

I don't know if this can help, but in the last months when I play on the PCB I make it to the second loop constantly, very often pretty far (at least 2-3).
The first time I broke the 780 HIT I was on the PCB and the first time I played on Neverland's Mighty Egret2 I improved my record with a 130M run (even if I'm used to play with a different button setup).
So it could seem that MAME emulation isn't that accurate and makes the game a little bit faster than the PCB's version.

But they just can be coincidences. ^_-

I'm still not sure if I can get a few days off. I think I'll be able to figure it out within the first week of January, though.

However, I don't see any big problems. After all, my boss gave me a day off for standing in line to get a Wii. :D

I had a couple of tries on yesterday.

Sorry if the score wasn't that good but I just cannot get used to change the button setup "on the fly". :(
Now that you're making me notice that, I think that the PCB version is a little bit slower: in some sections of the game I've found myself a little bit in advance, even if I thought to have the usual timings.
But it also may be due to the difference in prospective: that Egret monitor is 10 inches wider than mine!
