Some potential PS3 designs. Pics inside.

The above picture has 2 dualshock ports for backwards compatibility, there are 4 infra red sensors for the standard PS3 controllers.

This one is interesting because it has a UMD drive for PSP games and movie playback.

Both are mock ups and are probably far from the final product.
This industry has become 2 dimensional as it transcended into a 3D world.

Hm, that second design looks like a camera. I'm just waiting for Sony to announce the addition of twin toaster slots to the console, thus raising the price by 200$. ;)

Dam'n, those designs are ugly! I can tell you right away this is not how the PS3 will look like.

And why does everyone want vierless controlers? Do you know what they mean! Constant battery changing or recharging!
I should know, I had a wierless mouse :x

the bottom one maybe an actual design, but i doubt its the PS3.. but the top one is ridiculous, only nintendo could release something as ugly and unstylish as that! (tho i doubt even they would do it)...

Nah, the last one is exactly like my old camerabox, so I doubt it's that one.

The last concept is interesting...looks like it would have DVD *audio* built in. That would rule.

Nah, Nintendo would have had ports for 4 gamepads instead of 2! :P

^ True. However, let's keep in mind that the controller ports for the playstation systems are bigger, and thus, they can't fit as many of them. I call it the "legacy" flaw. If Sony had ditched backwards compatibility for the ps2, they would probably have included the extra ports. Or maybe they only put two because they didn't think four ports are really important, not that many games support 4 players.

The second one sounds a lot like the Super Game Boy/Game Boy Player.

What's up with Sony and their proprietary formats? Haven't they learned from Minidisc? (Now that MD plays MP3 natively, it's not much of an issue, but it took years and Apple kicking their asses for them to understand)

Hey, those pics were actually created by the magazine you took them from, guy. I know, i had to look twice too... but the article clearly states that those images are they're concepts, not Sony's.

That's one ugly Playstation, by the way. If it did look like that i'd have to cover it with a paper bag.

Hey, pretty nice unofficial mockups then.

I still remember the official DC mockups and wonder why that one with the 4 controller ports/knobs on the sides ( http://www.playright.dk/screens/dreamca ... _dc_08.jpg ) and the controller that looked like the PC-FX controller wasn't chosen (leftmost http://www.playright.dk/screens/dreamca ... _dc_01.jpg ).

I heard the PS3 is gonna cost a lot of bones.

A whole lot of bones... enough bones to make a legion of skeletons! Legion of skeletons!?! Ahh!

ah yes the sony toaststation. has the largest selection of compatible bread but almost all of the breads worth toasting will be available for every other toaster on the market. also for several years the toaststation will be the only toaster which will allow you to toast more than one piece of Wonder Bread simultaniously despite other toasters' ability to hold up to four peices of bread.
