Couldn't tell you if it's a shmup or not (Watch Impress calls it a 'shooting game' despite the free-roamingness look), but damn it looks good. From what I understand, its a direct licensed sequel to the original arcade version by Taito.
oh wow that looks like a really cool screenshot. My Sony "boycot" is getting tougher and tougher every day. I just saw VF5 and the awsome pics of the Virtua Stick High Grade yesterday. I might break down and get a J ps3 sometime in 2007. I'm more interested in getting stuff for my cabs though, so probably not getting a sony.
