Garegga/Batrider replays.
I don't know if this is a stupid question or not, but it's just too enticing.
Has anyone gotten the Garegga/Batrider replays on http://www.mog-rep.net/ to work? I tried very hard to get them to work, but they just won't. In fact, I tried recording a simple movie and playing it back under the same settings, and even that wouldn't work...
If anyone has gotten them to play back correctly, could you please upload some vids of them? I would be indebted to you forever. I'm really interested in seeing these replays, especially the no-miss Garegga one (with my favorite ship nonetheless)...
Sorry if I sound like a leeching newb...

Well, there are two big problems:
1. I simply cannot find the Mame versions listed anywhere. Apparently they're so old nobody cares about them anymore.
2. Like I said, I seem to have a fundamental problem with recording and replaying MAME inputs in the first place. For example, I did a quick recording of ESP Ra.De Stage 1, and when I played it back, it always desyched at the boss. This is with all the same settings and no high scores.

1. You are not looking hard enough. There are japanese and Koren websites with almost every version of mame32 and mameplus known. If you did what I asked and posted which replay (link) you are looking for I may be able to tell you if I already have it.atro_city wrote:Well, there are two big problems:

2. Try eraseing your NVRAM before recording, and before replaying. Also some replays on mog-rep specifically state different sound options/rates are required for successfull replay.

Well, I don't really know what to do beyond exhaustive Googling.

The site won't give me the direct link because of the frames, but it's at http://www.mog-rep.net/, replay, Raizing/8ing, page 2, the 5th one down with the picture that says "Completed".
I'll try your second suggestion. It just seems strange that every replay I try doesn't even insert a credit at the beginning (and it won't let me put in a credit, so that means it is actually playing the input).

Well Icarus AVI'd the 10mil Batrider Advance Course ALL with Strawman from mog-rep and elbarto figured out the correct mame player for that one too. So its best to ask them (if zinger doesn't have that one).
Its a super-safe run, with the player suiciding down to his last life most of the time and keeping his powerups to the minimum.
Useful for a safe low scoring Advance ALL, but it doesn't give us any clues as to how Laos got 29mil with a team

I watched one of the 20m Garegga runs with this version, worked fine. According to the site, it should work with at least one APB run too.

Went to mog-rep, and see that replay uses "GareMame32Plus 0.90". I typed this exactly into google and got 3 hits. The second hit mentions a geocities homepage for GareMame (http://www.geocities.jp/garelabo/index.html). I went there and downloaded 0.90. Went back to mog-net to translate the text to the right of the replay and it says to turn off direct 3D during replay. I played it back with no problem. Remember to delete NVRAM if you are going to play it back multiple times.atro_city wrote:You are not looking hard enough.

I don't think you are going to like this replay anyway, as there is no medaling whatsoever. Its a low scoring NoMiss ALL, with as low a rank as possible (while staying NoMiss).
BTW: here are some links to mame versions I've found on the net:
