Wow Chaos Field sucks!!!

Post by Lawfer »

Wow just waisted 24 bucks, this game is the worst. I saw some people on here talking about Chaos Field and it wasn't good, first and last milestone game I buy!

Already commented on that one, still kinda the same colorfull/cute ambience with annoying house/trance music. And there latest upcomming game looks exactly the same, you use a sword you use a gun and the graphics are still kinda fantasist/cute plus cel-shaded.

Chaos Field is one of the best shmups ever in my humble opinion, very addictive. But hey, it's not for everyone. As said, you're now also missing out on Radio Allergy. Suit yourself.

not to start a "yes" vs. "no" thread but i'm actually liking chaos field. it takes some significant effort and dedication to get into but then it tuns into an interesting game, at least for me it did.

it is certainly suffering from some terrible design issues such as being a yoko-vertical shooter which makes the game a lot harder than it proabably would have been in proper tate. And depending on wich version you play you may to manually map some buttons to activate weapons you will need in the game but still the game stands, imo.

and for me personally one of the things that is keeping me with the game is the totally awesome OST! for people who don't like ChaosField but do like electronic, tekknoisy music DO check out the CF OST! it's really good and more like a techno album rather than OST.

~eretsua.

ps.

I just don't like their other games either, and I in general do not like Vertical shooter, except for some exceptions.

Got the Chaos for $15 and Ikaruga for $40. Tried them once and didn't feel like touchin' them again 'cause the GC dpad sucks so hard.

'Supposed to throw more money at it to solve that problem. Gettin' sick of doin' that. Already threw $200 down on Wiicube controllers alone. Madness I say.

Why not post your opinion into that thread then instead of making a new one for just to spew our your opinion of it? What use should a thread like this have? "Yeah, it sucks!" "No, it doesn´t!"

I can´t believe Darius11 made a thread about when RSG3 is going to come out and was instantly taco'ed and you can get away with THIS. If everone just made new thread about what games rules/sucks this forum would suffocate under it´s own weight. This wouldn´t be such a big deal if you would actually write about WHY you don´t like it.

Chaos Field is a good title so long as you aren't expecting too much originality from it. Switching between fields is pretty cool; the sword seems a little cheesey IMO.

Yeah, Radilgy is great IMO. Fun game and very well presented. I'm waiting for the next one and hope it comes to DC too (not holding my breath). The graphics look pretty drab though, like Radilgy with grays instead of bright colors.

chaos field isn't a pick and play title at all, and it does give a poor first impression.
read the thread in the strategy forum and try to play for score for a while, it becomes strangely addictive over time.

I'd disagree and say it's totally a pick up and play title. I can put it in and play for 5-10 minutes and have a great time. It is kind of addictive but I can't see myself really focusing on it much.

Indeed. I used to be called fetus hands whenever we screwed around shootin' the hoops.....and...during poker games for some reason.
When the Dpad is only as big as the frikkin' A button. You have a problem.

...but that complaint came 5 years too late

Wii classic for GC woulda ruled. But right now, Chaos with GC controller is like playin' Super Star Soldier on Wiimote.

*giggles*

agree though, classic controller is good shit. DS dpad is an improvement alsew, better than the GBA for GBA games for that reason alone (and better screen). but anyway.

Nice to hear the classic controller to be praised. Maybe someone invents a PC converter for this. For a PS2 converter, for that matter.

Yeah, I think it's fine if someone makes a thread for their first experience with a game if there's something more to it, some extra insight or something. Not an easy task, but hey. There's also bunches of games that haven't been released within the 05-present board lifetime (i.e. don't have release topics with dozens of hate/like it impressions).

CF is the type of game to be played for score only. If you don't intend to read the strategy, as chtimi suggested, you'll be wasting your money on not just this game.

No, it's unusable.

It's kind of frightening that he's got 55 posts and hasn't been run out on a rail yet.

This board needs to toughen up.

Unusable 'cause you cut your thumb.

I use a wavebird, not sure if the d pad on that is any different but it works fine for ikaruga and chaos field.
