How readable are the Japanese shmup games?

Post by Pixel_Outlaw »

I've thought about getting s japanese ps/2. I know that many japanese games are readable in english especially shmups because of their simplicity. Can you think of any good shmups that are compleatly playable in the good ol' USA? I know no Japanese.
Some of the best shmups don't actually end in a vowel.
No, this game is not Space Invaders.

Well...Radrigy got a port to both GC and PS2 and almost all of the menus in it were in english. In fact, most of the foreign games I have seen have at least some english in them. Even if they aren't, what's stopping you from asking any of us for help with anything unclear?

You'll figure out what's what if you play it long enough.

For most games all you need to know is Yes, No, Load and Save. Everything else is usually in english.

As for reading the manuals, the strategy boards here are far better than anything they will tell you.

Take a few minutes to learn freddiebamboo's essentials. You ought to be golden with just those 4 words. And possibly Autosave, for which your reponse should be "No" :)
