:o i dont which console or videogame system you guys play this on( my playstation has been non functional/dead for 6-7years), but when my playstation was working, i had a speed select option on the menu where you can increase your ship speed up 3 times (fast, faster, very fast). to get this option, you have to finish any mission on arcade level with 3 lives only (on 1 credit of course). after you finish the game and put your score up, go back to the game difficulty and you should be able to select arcade2, you then gotta play and finsh the mission again. repeat this till you finsh arcade4, go back to the menu and you will get speed up select. Ps, other hdden features i remember on playstation were SPECIAL STAGE (you have to finish mission ALPHA, BRAVO, and CHARLIE missions on normal/arcade 3lives/3bombs basically default in one session to get special stage). dont forget to play either misssion using using the blue 2player ship which is faster than the red 1player ship which youve got no chance of finishing the game with.

:o Don't stress yourself playing (BRAVO) mission, just play survival on (ALPHA) mission on arcade difficulty. once you've done that, repeat the mission on arcade2, 3 and 4. Make sure your autofire rate is on the highest setting and use the purple homing lazer. you need it for arcade 3 and 4 which are super hard. took me about 2 months of 2-3hrs a day of play before my mind adjusted to the warp speed enemy bullets on arcade4 difficulty. well worth it once i got the ship speed up select.

Thanks for the tip mills!

I don't think there's any way I can ever beat Arcade 3 and Arcade 4 though, that's just crazy hard.

And wouldn't playing with enhanced ship speed kind of be cheating anyway? ;)

BTW, I noticed a replay of Training mode became unlocked after I 1CC'd it. I also got an option to "save replay", but somehow I can't access it. :(
Are there any other unlockables apart from the replay options, higher difficulties and ship speed?

The Training Mission replay is the "Master of Raiden". Impressive stuff, getting over 6mil from Training. (My best is about 5.4mil, that run is on super-play.co.uk as the "100% Bonuses" replay.)

The Replay Options automatically saves your last run to temporary memory. To save it to permanent memory, use the Save Replay option. For some reason, you have to run the replay a couple of times before it syncs, as sometimes it does a MAME and desyncs the first time around. Note that you can only have one replay saved at a time.

As for unlockables, go to the Raiden DX ST thread.

Nice! I should've looked in the Strat section earlier. :)

I saw your replay, and I've been using this for strategies so far.

TRAINING (Arcade)

CIT - 2,337,430 - 1-0 - 2P

Awesome run. Triggered the fourth pyramid successfully and then destroyed it with the explosion of my hit fighter, as I lost my last life, for a last-minute 200k boost. Yippie! :D

:o Yeah well that is debatable to the individual and not game maker Seibu Kaihatsu whom programmed this option in the first place. the game is still tricky to complete even with the enhanced speed.

:o You should learn to master the position of those gold bonuses on each stage by playing the game on very easy difficulty, so you can study your postioning when you tackle the game on arcade difficulty.

:o Thats pretty good going for using the 1 player red ship, but why bother wasting time and energy using a ship that moves at a snails pace. its all about using 2 player blue ship only. your not gonna get any extra praise for 1CC-ing any mission with the 1 player red ship. why? because i tried it for months and gave up. there are no unlockable features using 1player red ship.

Your english is far better than my german.....because i dont speak, or type a word of it. i take it you dont have a language translation software package where your message can be translated to the language you wish to communicate, or send correspondences to....not that you need it so far.

You use should post your scores on the highscore thread when your scores is high enough to challenge everyone else. Plus shumpers are more likely to look at that thread than this one. it is of value or point to post scores on a week in, week out, or month in, month out basis. when your scores are really impressive, then get a digi-photo of it and then post that.

So when are you going to post yours, Mills? I've been waiting to see them ever since you registered. Claim your rightful place on the top of the boards and put us to shame, already! The suspense is killing me. ^_-

Small improvement:

Advanced Course (Arcade Difficulty)
Edge - 2'043'540 - 1-4 - P2

Say on the PSX version, does anybody know how many blocks a replay require on the memory card? I'd like to save my replays for personal enjoyment and actually looking at myself playing makes me realize my mistakes better.

I'll see if Mills can shame you at London Meet IV by installing DX in Casino arcade  . As I've said before, Mills on the 3rd loop onwards of Advanced (Charlie) Mission arcade default is mad to watch  . His real score was around 18,000,000 I think (the Counter Stop is acknowledged at 10,000,000 on this one). 1 life for 3 or 4 loops.

I'll see what I can do to find and install a DX board ASAP, so that Mills can practice.
