I think he meant something not already out. In which probably never for a full release, but maybe a few for it's "arcade" thing for games submitted by freelance teams.

There is not a lot of concrete information about PS3 shmups at the moment, hence the amount of noise in this thread. Hopefully we'll see some nice 1080p HD horizontal shmupping action sometime down the line.

The presence of the launch title Blast Factor among the SCEA published lineup is at least an encouraging sign for 2D shooters on the system. The possibility of old PS1/PS2 shmups appearing in the "Game Archives" section of the online Playstation 3 store in years to come is also exciting, especially for rare out of print shmups, given they are relatively small files and easy to download.

I'll tell ya one best memories when i got my import ps2 is when there was only two shmups (i may be far and few between on this one). Gradius 3 and 4 and Silpheed 2 the lost planet ( people are pratically giveing this one away such a tragedy). I prefer the import of silpheed becuase it gave you 15 more sheilds, personally i think it was a masterpeice haveing it come out at about the same time as the ps2. I will never part with it. I spent a long time on those games. I just hope Thunder force 6, gradius 6, and Salamnder 3 all get on board on the PS3.

i guess we will see a shmup on the ps3 after something like 4 years after-launch

This is because everybody will want to use the super hardware for jaw dropping games, leaving shmuppers and 2d fighters in the dust.
